Why do so many people have a boner for Germany's old eastern borders? Look at any alt-hist featuring the nation and they still own Pomerania, Silesia, Prussia (East/West) etc. Is it because of aesthetics and looking nice, does /pol/ have anything to do with it, or is it something different?

Because they glorify the German Empire or support German nationalism.
After WW2 the Germans who lived there were deported to the DDR while the Poles who lived in Western Ukraine and Western Belarus were resettled there to replace them. Regaining these territories for Germany is considered a lost cause by everyone except hardcore nationalists.

those territories aren't even german, they were from old prussians and poles

this; also, BND astroturfs eastern europe like crazy and depicts german rule as benevolent and a "civilized" alternative to communist/native corruption

Now I'm curious. What are hardcore nationalists stance one Alsace-Lorraine. I assume they would still want it

Obviously, it should be part of Switzerland.
Also Belgium should be part of Switzerland. And Savoy region of Italy and Catalonia region of Spain should all be part of Switzerland. Just a line of Switzerland totally encircling France.

There is a big prevalence of germanboos subhumans in communities such as "grand strategy" gaming, anime and "historic"/mapping youtube videos. Their presence here is explained by the huge number of /pol/ infiltrators who are easily attracted to such lower forms of mediums, however their discourse is generally filtered so their point goes from "the nazis did nothing wrong look at allies warcrimes" to "germany did nothing wrong look at allies warcrimes". There is also the fact that the German Empire is not as demonized as Nazi Germany so the fascists use it as a cover to promote their reactionary conservatism covertly.
One thing is certain, the German are an inherently imperialistic people, despite this they will continue crying about their supposed "unfair" treatment by the Allies on the Internet. Too bad we didn't go for the Morgenthau Plan and liquidated this reactionary race.

As a French myself I used to be super triggered by the number of German or pro-German chauvinists on the Internet who kept saying that Alsace-Lorraine was German clay, even going as far as using the EL-word. Nowadays I don't give a single a fuck about it because they will never get it back.

>Savoy region of Italy
Savoy is part of France, Anon

>liquidated this reactionary race.
c'est vraiment cringe, ça

I don't give a fuck

what's that?

Elsass-Lothringen, the German name for Alsace-Lorraine

>is french
>b-but germans are inherently imperialistic!
lmao get fucked pierre, you're just as bad as all the deutsches kaiserreich/nazi germany/prussia fetishists and should get shot

File: 1608528120118.png (138.23 KB, 668x600, Roosevelt Plan for Germany.png)

>Morgenthau Plan
Bruh come on, not even the Roosevelt Plan?

as for frenchie saying that the German 'race' is 'inherently imperialistic,' that IS a bit spooky,
but the geopolitics of a united German nation ARE in fact a geopolitics which encourages imperial domination.
Of course if the full partition went through for the Deutschbags that would just make France the unequivocal dominator of the EU rather than the Germans so, eh whatever.

A French-dominated EU would be better than the current German-dominated EU, and of course, no EU at all would be the best

>Regaining these territories for Germany is considered a lost cause by everyone except hardcore nationalists.
pretty much this, look up Reichsbürgerbewegung https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reichsbürger_movement

that area is literally Prussia, the homeland of the original german state that formed Germany

>They maintain that the German Reich (or, occasionally, Prussia)[4] continues to exist in its pre-World War II borders, and that it is governed by a Kommissarische Reichsregierung (KRR, Provisional Reich Government), or Exilregierung ("government in exile").[5]
So basically the German equivalent of the American "Sovereign citizens" and Russian "Soviet citizens".

Not by much, most of the evilest things the EU has done have had strong French backing.

>Prussians (Old Prussian: Prūsai; German: Pruzzen or Prußen; Latin: Pruteni; Latvian: Prūši; Lithuanian: Prūsai; Polish: Prusowie; Kashubian: Prësowié) were the indigenous peoples from a cluster of Baltic tribes that inhabited the region of Prussia. This region lent its name to the later state of Prussia (see King in Prussia). It was located on the south-eastern shore of the Baltic Sea between the Vistula Lagoon to the west and the Curonian Lagoon to the east. The people spoke a language now known as Old Prussian and followed pagan Prussian mythology.
>During the 13th century, the Old Prussians were conquered by the Teutonic Order. The former German state of Prussia took its name from the Baltic Prussians, although it was led by Germans. The Teutonic Knights and their troops transferred the Baltic Prussians from southern Prussia to northern Prussia. Many Old Prussians were also killed in crusades requested by Poland and the popes, while others were assimilated and converted to Christianity. The old Prussian language was extinct by the 17th or early 18th century.[1] Many Old Prussians emigrated due to Teutonic crusades.

There are a shitton of these guys because of Paradox games like Vic 2, Hoi4, etc.
I see a bunch of "monarchists" because of these games too and I think it comes from there. They like the Nazis but don't want to be perceived as a Nazi so just like the "innocent German Empire"

Yeah, hardcore nationalists still consider it 'Elsaß-Lothringen'.
No one else cares, it's a part of France.

I don't know about the "Sovjet citizens" but the "Sovereign citizens" comparison is on-point.

Because Poland is full of reactionaries and reactionary nationalism, to the point where we prefer the Germans.

"Soviet citizens" are a movement of Russians who act as if the Soviet Union still exists and that they are not subject to the laws of the Russian Federation. Similarly to sovereign citizens and Reich citizens they are also attracted to absurd conspiracy theories.
