What is it with major game devs having popular games and then immediately catering them towards “those” kind of gamers that just whine and wish they got everything handed to them, all for accessibility? It’s like being the most popular guy at your workplace and then fucking over everyone in it to impress a manager at a completely different company, doesn’t make any fucking sense

its the same reason why every media start doing the same beats over and over everytime one thing start getting popular,the difference is that a videogame absolutely absord your time,so having 20 of the same thing with different skins can't work by the nature of wanting to keep the playerbase in your game as permanent money dispenser,which means only one win in the end.

They made several fuckups in a row. Released this dogwater game you would need the serotonin receptors of a child listening to the sounds of an icecream cart coming by to find any enjoyment in, all after openly alienating their own community from them, going through a series of lawsuits and abuse scandals, having dozens of their best staff walk out on them and being so incompetently managed that they somehow fucked up at something as simple as updating the graphics and animations of Warcraft 3 reforged without completely ruining every other aspect of the game.

The day activision share of vivendi grew over 63% was the day vivendi died and became the zombified husk of microtransactions, nostalgia trips and shitty releases that is modern blizzard whom is currently riding itself towards its own destruction just like every capitalist institution in contemporary times. There will never be a day where I will wholeheartedly believe capitalists and the people running for profit institutions are smart and won’t consistently make constant fuckups and be prone to the most predictable behaviour in existence for the sake of profit that fucking Marx and at this point 10s of thousands of economists have stated repeatedly

Speaking of hindsight. The entire genre is boring and you as an adult male is capable of so much more than chasing dopamine in games meticulously designed to get you invested for long stretches of time. I liked playing D1 at the time but tell me it hasn't gotten old. We're decades later now and we've gotten dozen of high profile Diablo-likes. Tell me why you're even humoring another one?

Nicely put. Adults simply want to challenge themselves and waste as little as time in-between. A s a child I simply didn't get exhausted when doing menial tasks for hours on end. It tells us something about how poorly we were raised. But Grim Dawn, Wolcen, Last Epoch, PoE etc are all the same. And Diablo 1 or 2 is no different.

Smite and Dota are the natural successors to Diablo. Like fighting games were to beat-em-ups. And we've still got Diablo IV to look forward to. It's time to ask yourself: Haven't I had enough yet?

seeing as modern blizzard is now under Microsoft,yeah they're probably going to just die when Overwatch 2 release and nobody give a shit about it because it's just a paid update to the first one,and diablo 4 get barely any player because everybody is on path of exile 2. I dunno. Alot of adults like to think themselves as highly evolved beings capable of any challenges.
Then they flop and prefer simplicity.
Also, kids like to challenge themselves to. But of course we call that childish arrogance.
