i've been looking at speedruns just to beat parts of games i wanna get past fast

it def looks like boring having to do the same thing over and over just to try and get the record for let's say a couple of weeks or years

but i mean if you find that fulfilling you find that fulfilling and tbh i can see how that would work

but i also see how it's also just like another "fandom" to put it some way

i'm happier making videogames insufferable and hard as shitting bricks with mods and just barely getting through them instead

I love seeing speedrunners completely breaking games I loved to do. The history of how a community makes progress in time is also fascinating to me and I recommend watching Summoning Salts videos.
When I was younger I would spend hours on some games finding glitches, ways to get out of bounds for fun, but in the end it takes a certain mindset to be able to grind hundreds of hours on a single game, and it's certainly not for me because I like variety in my experiences, although the dopamine rush when beating a record must be something!

I don't have the power of autism to get into speedrunning, but I do find them fascinating. I tried learning A Link to the Past back in the day, but it was just too much doing the same thing over and over again and I couldn't take it.

But nah you had to be in the UK at that specific time, they really were everywhere for a couple years and it was pretty miserable
