[BAKA MITAI] is better
https://youtu.be/ByutJrnLNxU

I fucking love this game. Like everyone else I got into it recently through Yakuza 0. That may actually be a kind of a bad thing sine as far as I can tell its the best game in the series. Tried kiwami 1 but it wasnt the same. Everything is much cleaner but I loved the density of Kamurocho in 0, there were so many building you could enter in 0 that you just cant in kiwami, really flattens the experince for me.

As good as the main gameplay + story are, my favorite parts are the sidequests, again it gives life to the area and the business parts are fun. I wanna git gud at running the hostess club so I can talk to all the girls. I know only people who started with 0 think this, but i like nu-majima more than origninal CrAzY gUY Majima

Other opinions, DAISUKE KUZE is used very well, my initial opinion of him was uncertain and he was just a dumb thug (hes that too) but over the game, I grew less 'afraid' and more mildly annoyed/amused, but also you really start to respect him as well more than anyone else in Tojo anyway

Really liked Tachibanna by the end RIP to a real one, even his backstabing goon deserves some respect. The game doesnt really characterise Kazama enough for me to care abiut him beyond - Kiry likes him, I guess

I could go on but you get it - all the characters are really solid; Reina, Nishki, the swole chinese guy who takes care of thr blind girl - all of them.

I was surprised by how small the filsize was for such a rich game, but its because instead of doing empty flashy shit like other games, there are a few 'flashy' elemsents reused often but the real quality comes from interacting - mostly through talking ie. text - with the world. In a way, Yakuza is more about the cities than the yakuza themselves. Runing around and learning about the city is more satisfying than going between empty, one of, 'cinematic' setpieces.

As for downsides I'd have to say combat. Its not really about fighting so much as it is about stunlocking enemies. The alternative is using weapons which are fun but sometimes OP. Its still alright when you get used to it but most of the fights will be learning how to stunlock the enemies and wail on them. Conversly, its incredibly frustrating to have your controller be worthless because 3 - 14 low level goons keep kicking you and thus restarting the stun lock period.

Overall, breddy gud, DAME DAME/10

I'm still working my way through Yakuza 0, but I've been having a lot of fun with it.

bump
I also started with 0 but the ending left me really wanting more to the story so that's why I'm gonna get Kiwami soon. I can always replay 0 later for something of higher quality, plus I'm still not done achieving 100% completion.

Zoomers absolutely ruined Baka Mitai for me.

From Zero to Kiwami is a little rough. the story isn't spectacular, and the quests are kind of dull, but it's not a bad game by any means.
6 was my favorite by far

Why do you think it was only zoomers doing it? Plus it's easy to ignore if you don't go on social media and YouTube too much.

Personally I think the superior song from 0 is Judgement Nishiki ver.

I wanted to play it just to know what happens next even if the story is kinda shit (maybe I should play the original too). But now that the rest of the games are coming to PC it seems that I won't have to wait very long to play 6 since I'm a poorfag without a Sony console.

I recently played through Yakuza 0 for the first time. It was an amazing experience and there were moments where I had tears in my eyes, moments where I laughed out loud, and one moment where I gasped IRL. My favorite video game story so far. The gameplay was cool too, but the main story and the side missions were what kept me hooked. Such a good game, kyodais. I started Kiwami after that, and haven't really done too much on that. I heard it's not so good, since it's a remake, but that Kiwami 2 is better.

I wonder how people who played the games in release order felt about the plot points that were revealed in 0, considering that everyone new keeps jumping into 0-1-2 instead of 1-2-3-4-5-6-0.

I want Ishin to be released in English so bad

Also lemme share this article about real yakuza playing Yakuza 3, in case you haven't read it:
https://boingboing.net/2010/08/10/yakuza-3-review.html

Some of my favorite bits:
>S: You got your salaryman in there, the delinquent school girl and her sugar daddy, Chinese people, and even those Nigerian touts. What's with all the fucking gaijin (foreigners) in the area anyway? It used to be just Japanese, Koreans and Chinese.
>M: Don't say gaijin. Say Gaikokujin. It's more polite. Jake's a gaijin.
>S: Yeah, I forget sometimes. What's with all the fucking gaikokujin in Kabukicho anyway?

>M: I like the fact that you power up by eating real food. Shio ramen gives you a lot of power — CC Lemon, not as much. It all makes sense.

>S: The breaded pork cutlet bento box is like mega power. More than ramen. That's accurate.
>K: If they had shabu (crystal meth) as a power-up item, that would be realistic. It's a yakuza game.

>S: I don't know any ex-yakuza running orphanages.

>K: There was one a few years ago. A good guy.
>M: You sure it wasn't just a tax shelter?
>K: Sure it was a tax shelter but he ran it like a legitimate thing. You know.

>M: Don't forget that there are some yakuza who became politicians.

>K: And still are. The CIA part of the story, I don't buy though. Too nutty for me. What do you think Adelstein? You used to work for them right.
>A: I never worked for the CIA. Well, not directly.
>M: The Mossad. You're Jewish.
>K: He'll never admit it.
>A: I'll admit it. I'm Jewish. You overestimate the CIA. The CIA is not nearly as competent an organization as the Yamaguchi-gumi.
>S: Well, I guess they wanted to make the game more international. And let's face it, these days, Americans and the CIA make great villains.

Never played, but have watched some youtube gameplay clips. According to Yakuza, all you have to do to sleep with a thicc, booba-tier girl is share drinks and talk with her at a bar? And maybe win a bar fight?

This true?

Play Yakuza 0, or Yakuza Kiwami 1. You'll get to be a coomer inside the game.
