No because (at least from what we know so far) it is a complete blindslide, a twist for its own sake. The general plot is fine but forcing a swap to a character's whose interests and goals is complete antithetical to the previous character is tryhard to the max. TLOU commits the biggest sin of trying to impress, not convince people with plot twists and turns like this.
What would be better would be to not mention Elle and Joel at all, say it is a new character in a sidequel, and then reveal that the character wanting to kill the two of them mid-way of the game.
