>>5111NCR is an inherently bad option because they are explicitly following the path of the United States in being an imperialist colonialist country which condones the usage of nuclear weapons in war - as you can see through the ending of Lonesome Road if you McNuke Legion. Inevitably all the NCR will do is repeat the same mistakes of the United States and cause the Apocalypse 2 Electric Boogalo. Hell, they are already toying with disastrous superweapons like the the body-jacking fungus in the Vault up North of New Vegas proper, Helios One's solar super-weapon if they knew about it, and probably Synths too by the events of Fallout 4. The industry of the NCR is largely non-existent as the actual power of the NCR is held by an aristocratic class of Brahmin-lords and Caravan Runners like the Crimson Caravan, along with delightful fellows like the crimelords of New Reno, the eugenicists of Vault City, and practically slave-owning plantation owners who run "sharecropper farms" where they keep the NCR military posted to keep an eye on the farmers. Basically everyone in power in the NCR is specifically invested in halting the industrial progress of the NCR so they can proliferate and reproduce their power through constant expansion into places like the Mojave so they can expand their agri-buisness through the depletion of the natural resources of the region (especially what little unpolluted water is left in the region, groundwell water) to keep up their cattle farms and pre-industrial plantation-style farms. Hell, they've barely got a fucking railroad system going by the time of NV and they use literal slave labor to do it. The NCR would inevitably create a mass ecological crisis in the region through their unbound exploitation of the land and large-scale pollution through mass-farming that they might cause their own miniaturized apocalypse before they could even go through causing another nuclear one.

 No.5123

>b-but my liberal capitalism promotes industrialization and progressif the NCR was an even half-industrialized nation they would probably kick the teeth of Legion in with massed infantry using mass-produced weapons and armor, but throughout the game you see that the NCR often has under-equiped troops that have had to scavenge their own weapons and equipment and are often so vastly understaffed that they can't hold the position - see Forlorn Hope and Searchlight, especially Searchlight because the only thing they can offer you as a quest reward is a fucking shitty beat-up service rifle which maybe 1/4th of the troopers there have. There is also the power structure of the NCR, where it is heavily implied that the NCR has had much of its governmental power shifted to the executive where a military cabal that is appointed by the aforementioned business interests to oversee their needed colonial expansion. This would mean that while it would seem to be a liberal democracy, de facto it would actually be more akin to a fascist state, where the democracy exists as a spectacle while the only people who can actually get into place to be elected either has to be rich already or have the backing of someone rich so as to carry out their agenda for them. This is a dictatorship of the bourgeoisie - a fascist (or at least fascistic) state - one that would be inherently opposed to leftist aims.

>>5118Caesar's only explanation of Hegel was done to some wasteland retard that was acting as a hire to him, he basically tl;dr'd it so someone who hadn't read a thousand philosophy books could understand it. Because in-game even if you have 10 int you are still a wasteland yokel, Caesar has had an actual rigorous education through the Followers.

And to top it all off best faction is BoS>protects people from the most dangerous technology of the pre-War world>reverant of technology but understands it alone is not the full way forwards, willing to destroy technology that endangers humanity (synths, FEV/gene manipulation, solar super lasers, so on)>drives out the raiders and other miscreants from the world, protecting people from the worst parts of the wasteland>indifferent about governing people as long as they abide their rules on technology and trade food for protection, allow people to be self-governing>has almost all of the tech of the old world, only really surpassed by the Enclave, and would gradually reintroduce lost technology to the wasteland as they would go along>only faction that has mass long-term travel through their air blimps, could feasibly actually reunite the disparate sects of humanity>literally no spooks about race or religion or shit, atheistic, scientific and material>the only forwardly and truly pro-humanity faction, willing to fight forces several times their size (the Master + his super mutant army, the Enclave, the Institute's Synths, ect) just because they are totally invested in human survival >most effective military force on the continental US since the fall of the Enclave

 No.5126

>>5125>indifferent about governing people as long as they abide their rules on technology and trade food for protection, allow people to be self-governing>the only forwardly and truly pro-humanity faction, willing to fight forces several times their size (the Master + his super mutant army, the Enclave, the Institute's Synths, ect) just because they are totally invested in human survival Not even, the BoS is completely indifferent to the needs of people in the wasteland. They're only willing to fight against the master because he was a threat to their existence, not because of their care for humanity. All BoS cares about is preserving and gaining tech, nothing more. At least Caesar is willing to experiment with a new society that has a long term goal of the preservation of humanity

 No.5127

>>5126>They're only willing to fight against the master because he was a threat to their existenceEvery indication was they intended to fight to mutants (even Vree having paladins going out to kill mutants to do autopsies of them) but that the Elders of the BoS were skeptical of their existence as an organized force until the Lone Wanderer presents their evidence. John Maxon himself says:"Well the Merchants from the Hub told us a bunch of caravans disappeared on their way up north. I think there's an army in the mountains, but the Elders, well, they don't want to act until they're sure."And they are true to their word, they send crack troops with movie quotes and superweapons.https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Brotherhood_invaders

um…

 No.5131

>>5130
If he understood dialectics, he would side with the capitalist NCR instead of taking two steps backwards and recreating a slave society

 No.5132

>>5131
He's literally an accelerationist who's trying to jump start fascism and the need to rebel against capitalism because the NCR is too stagnant to ever incite a revolution, so he rolled up his sleeves and said "if you gotta have a fascist dictator to revolt against, you gotta do it yourself". His end goal is either to push the NCR to the edge to the point it either DOES become a capitalist shithole(more so than it is now) or it manages to evolve past its petty liberal system to defeat him. That or the NCR is so weak that the legion rolls over it and adopts the capitalistic attributes in order to reach a point that a revolution is possible, since being a feudal nation a revolution isn't possible. He's basically just a very orthodox Marxist who believes that you gotta follow each step of Marx's dialectics without skipping any, and that a true society can only emerge from the corpse of capitalism and not from a feudal society.

 No.5133

>>5132
Fallout world isn't pre-industrial though so saying you have to go back to feudalism first is dumb.

 No.5134

>>5133
There's literally tribes running around and the NCR is JUST getting the ability to produce basic shit like concrete and stonemasoning again, they haven't developed any proper modes of production, instead mimicking the likeness of the old world's industry, proper classes and norms have not yet emerged due to how rapidly it has occurred, in NV you see just the very beginning of class warfare with the Bhramin Barons, but again that's substance rather than consumerist focused and is more akin to Guilds.

 No.5135

>>5122
>>5123
What irked me with NCR is that they've got these two big-ass AA-guns at Hoover Dam. But they've got no howitzers. The Boomers are blowing any trespasser to kingdom come like there's no tomorrow. There's the Sierra Army Depot in Fallout 2 where you can fire a howitzer and so on. You can get rocket launchers + rockets from traders.

But NCR can't be arsed to let them have just a couple of howitzers to harass The Fort with.

>>5125
Then there's the East Coast BoS who i FO4 clearly wants to build an empire instead of being some kind of errand-knights.

>>5129
>Adolf Stalin
>Bataille's Influence On Extreme Metal
Wow!

>>5134
>proper classes and norms have not yet emerged due to how rapidly it has occurred
True, but OTOH from a cultural perspective, it's like the 1950s never ended, not even in the face of armageddon. Because the culture was pretty conservative until 2077. Yeah, it was only in FO3 that they could really indulge in the retro-futurism. FO1 & 2 was like grimdark 90s with a some helpings of retro-futurism. But not full retro-futurism.

The general feel of 1&2 was like Old West on television but with lasers. Weird Western?

>Bhramin Barons

Doesn't they "require" power armor troops for protection or something? If the core of NCR is relatively civlized (but rougher compared to us), then only some kind of gendarmerie should be required. Not Storm Troopers that could clean house with Caesar if deployed.

They all suck dick. Everyone except House are boring as all hell:
>Burgerstan, post apocalypse edition
>The ooga booga savages that also happen to have a leader that bumbles midwit Hagel shit
>A "choose what you want to believe" ending that doubles as an ending for people who fuck up their other endings with a bonus of a stupid, kitschy robot that is as repulsive as the entire "ironic" Fallout aesthetic.
Then you got House, who is just a technocrat PMC's selfinsertion, but at least he has an interesting backstory.

What is truly beyond me is that people still have this debate, especially on a leftist forum. At best it is measuring inches between turdpiles, and then getting into a shouting match over which turdpile smells less.

Now all of you go play Underrail

Dreadfully bad. Mind-numbingly bad.

Fallout is unironically a game for old millennials who no longer have the fast-twitch muscle and rapid hand-eye coordination of their youth, who are embarrassed to play video games in front of their 10 to 14 year old kids.

Falout is for the most casual of casual gamer. Fallout is literally the "Participation Trophy" of video games. Bethesda should rebrand it: "Fallout: The Safe Space… For the Aging Millennial"

>Fallout gameplay summary:

Time to mount my power armor, and now I'm just going to mosey on over to there. And then I'm just going to mosey on over to there. And now, oh, howdy folks, don't mind me, I'm just going to mosey on over to there. Yikes, a quest! Time to do some grinding. Ahh, would you look at that wonderful landscape. Welp, armor up, it's time to mosey on over to there.

>you gais, Fallout is like Elder Scrolls with guns

Stop with that nonsense. At least be honest. Fallout is like all the excitement and energy of bingo night at the senior center. And this game isn't even a game. It is a movie occasionally interrupted by brief grinding to act like a sight-seeing simulator.
