By all means this is an excellent historical summary of class struggle which is deeply inherent in all modern bourgeois societies. The interesting fact both respective authors have pointed out is that the Pandemic itself has made the democratic structures of the existing social order irrelevant or let alone incompatible with the basic needs of the people. Ever since the start of the pandemic the ruling classes have diverted trillions of dollars in the form of cares act and other stimulus measures that quickly magnified the collective wealth of both financial and tech Oligarchical class. At the same time. however, they made sure that schools and non essential work places remain open for business. Their response has been we cannot afford prolong lockdowns and that vaccine alone would be enough to contain the spread of the virus. Of course the rapid transmission of new emerging variants has proven this assumption utterly ridiculous to say the least. All this as we can see has greatly angered the public. To counter the growing social threat governments most notably the US and Europe are now escalating their foreign policy pursuits against Russia and China in a clear attempt to distract the working class from their own shortcomings back home.
