I've seen liberals think of it as some "le funny and cool black guys" movie that's just about IdPol and right-wingers thinking it has some "anti-white agenda" - people are so decoded from any critique of capitalism that they don't even notice it when it's right in front of them.

that is just depressing, the end of the movie literally made a call for revolution and criticized socdems and revisionists, in teh end the good guys literally storm a rich guys house, the movie is not that subtle, and some people still dont get it?

Hollywood and the US in general have been anti-communist so hard and for so long that they legit forgot what a communist looks like. None of those people have encountered communists in a generation at least, more like living memory. If you put a gun to their head (and didn't immediately pull the trigger) they couldn't tell you the difference between capitalism and communism.

If you pay attention and watch this movie critically, you will notice that it is actually very liberal. The producers of Zero Dark Thirty did not screw up by funding Sorry to Bother You, in fact they were very cunning by making a movie that subverts socialism.
