Excellent show that truly revels in being quite accurate on the time-period(s) it depicts and the insanity of being an advertiser/salesman. Its one of the best pieces of television made; certainly one of the best in recent times.

>>7036 how does it compare to The Wire?

Poor man The Sopranos
Anonymous Comrade 2020-12-21 (Mon) 04:50:10 No. 7855
>>7852 It has no similarity to the Sopranos except by aesthetic, the Sopranos are a totally different subject.

>>7036 I felt the writers were a little too in love with Don, he's supposed to be this deeply flawed character living a paper thin life, but just about every episode gives him an opportunity for a grand gesture of forgiveness or charity. I guess his arc lacked weight to me because of how often he's shown to genuinely be the most well adjusted person in the room.

>>8054 Agreed. I like how they did my girl peggy at the end though, when Don let her step forward and take the wheel.
Also is Draper wordfiltered here?
Anonymous Comrade 2020-12-21 (Mon) 04:57:40 No. 11215
>>8054 That's kind of the point, he's a mostly good guy suffering from imposter syndrome, he's not the equivalent of a tony soprano type.
