Would you change your alignment from pro-socialism to pro-capitalism if you turned into picrel or got rich? and if so how much money exactly?(USD$)

I'd be "pro socialist" and accomplish just as much as every other "pro socialist" which is jack shit. No ethical consumption or production under capitalism.
>>

 No.158565

Not really. Marxism is a real hard redpill. I mean I thought about this, but it isn't the same anymore. Capitalism will fail but the question what will come after it is still unclear. Socialism or Barbarism and no amount of Money will change that
>>

 No.158566

I hate these kinds of questions, usually used by rightoids to make an argument of how weak socialists are mentally. The question just boils down to would you change an opinion of yours in exchange for alot of power in society and the most logical answer for alot of people is yes.

I don't understand the question, but people were writing about greenhouse effect and carbon in the atmosphere since in newspapers at least the early 1900s.

No, it is impossible to change your mind at will. Your mind is changed by a learning process which takes place over time. If you mean my public positions, then yes, I would change them for a sum of money equal to or greater than my annual income, and then immediately change back.

I figure the maximum amount of cash I could make in the next 50 years of life as a entry-level PMC scum accounting for inflation is about £4m. If I get that much I would chuck in my job, make a plan for reducing my own consumption as much as possible, read all the shit I've been meaning to and properly get involved with IRL stuff since I have all the time now.

Say I won euromillions, £100m+, I have no idea what I'd do, I don't know the inner workings of porky's tactics at that level of wealth. I'd probably keep £10m because greed, don't know wtf I'd do with it. Of the rest, maybe spend £10-20m building apartment complexes to 'rent' to leftists and proles for just the cost of maintenance to be put into a common fund controlled by 'tenants'. Start a think-tank/lobbying/propaganda group, though it'd probably be pissing in the ocean with all the competing billionaires/multi-millionaires. Fund grassroots groups in my country, maybe see about funnelling money to illegal groups in other countries, but that would probably lead to everything getting taken away.

If I inherited a factory from some long-lost uncle, I don't know what I could do. If I ran it according to principles, it'd just fail to more capitalist capitalists. I guess turn it into a co-op.

I actually choose not to be porky specifically for this reason. I do not want it to change my self interest, or, my perception of class. I refuse to even take a position of management.

Not like anything would change tbh.

This is what haunts me. I fairly recently became part owner of something that was once just a hobby for me and my buddy. I fell off to pursue career interests and he turned it into a multimillion dollar thing, then came back and basically gifted a portion of the company to me, which I begrudgingly accepted (woe is me). I don't really have an active role except providing input when my expertise is needed. I don't receive anything for ownership, though I could.
If anything, I'm more ardent about my commitments to Marxism and honest-to-god communism. But yeah, that means fuck all if my actions don't reflect that. I do have aspirations of taking what I can from the company and putting it towards socialist orgs and shit, which is how I've justified ownership to myself, but that's just talk right now.
Long story short, "alignment" to me means very little if we're just talking about ideology or opinion.

My take:
I will never be pro-capitalist. It's all about thinking long-term. The socialist millionaire may be a leech temporarily, but they think in the long-term. The capitalist merely thinks about short-term profits, and pretends to think long-term whenever he makes a successful investment.

That being said if I got a lot of money, which depended on exploitation of one country, you can better believe it will be used to fund militias, invest in collective farming and will be used to agitate the imperialist core (mostly to agitate the imperialist core, but those are just some ideas, nothing set in stone). Revolutions still need money.

Forget the money, I'm convinced a lot of people turn simply because it means their analyses get listened to.

You can spend a lifetime getting yourself blue in the face telling left-wing organizations that their strategy doesn't work, or you can say fuck it and take the CIA/MI5 cash to explain to them why that organization's strategy doesn't work, how it could be improved, how the improvement could possibly be countered… Play several moves ahead like a real chessmaster rather than sitting around explaining that the revolution is not going to come from selling newspapers and being kicked out of the org and ostracized for your trouble.

>>159165
to be clear when I said "take the MI5 cash" i was thinking of being paid at the same salary with the same conditions you'd otherwise have. on re-reading that sends a mixed message. the point isn't about the money, it's about achieving something. helping the bad guys win is still helping somebody win, unlike the utterly thankless task that is trying to make the left more effective.
