What the fuck were they thinking with this? And why did the Soviets stop building it after the Second World War? I’ve read somewhere that it’s because Stalin was planning on spending the revolution into all of Europe in 1941 but his plans were stopped by the German invasion and he became depressed because he fell short of his initial designs so he decided to cancel the project. It may sound sue but it’s actually kinda makes sense. Also, why were there so many nations besides Germany that fought in Operation Barbarossa. For context, there were Spanish divisions, French, Belgian, Croatian, Romanian, Finnish, Hungarian, etc. and later Baltoid and Hohol ones. Obviously they weren’t all going to benefit from Lebensraum, could this be proof that Stalin was really planning on spreading the revolution? This doesn’t mean Hitler was justified either by the way.

 No.1681866

It was a prestige project, and it was cancelled because there were way, way more important things to focus on than building a giant proletarian dick to wave around in post-war USSR.

Imagine the embarrasement of this building existing in modern Russia. I'm glad it wasn't built.

It would have been better if the project was moved to west Berlin so all those NATO officers have to look at Lenin looking down on them as they drive to work.

It would have been unfathomably based because it'd still be there. Russians never took the red stars off the Kremlin towers and Ukroids took until this year to scrape the hammer and sickle off the motherland statue.

Because they were all fascist bourgeois regimes or comprised of bourgeois nationalists aiming to destroy the USSR.

If I recall correctly didn’t DeGrelle (the leader of the Belgian SS) say that they were fighting in Russia for a social revolution of their own and that if Europe were to become bourgeois again they’d rather let communism take over and destroy everything?

The USSR was essentially the one and only communist country in the world, so obviously far right regimes like those of the axis powers would try to destroy it, communism is the inherent ennemy of fascism, they had tolerated the USSR until then due to them not wanting a two front war with the Allies, once France had Fallen and the Balkan taken care of, they could focus on their true ennemy
>>1682056
Fascists reuse communist terms, in that case "Bourgeois" just means "jewish rule" as they believed that this was what the Allies were

>the Soviets need a palace
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palace_of_the_Parliament
Don't forget every palace wants a king.
>The Palace of the Parliament (Romanian: Palatul Parlamentului), also known as the Republic's House (Casa Republicii) or People's House/People's Palace (Casa Poporului), is the seat of the Parliament of Romania
>The Palace of the Parliament is one of the heaviest buildings in the world, weighing about 4,098,500,000 kilograms (9.04 billion pounds; 4.10 million tonnes), also being the second largest administrative building in the world
We monarchists like having a big palace because we believe the State is like a big household quintessentially.

Plato / There won't be any difference, so far as ruling is concerned, between the character of a great household & the bulk of a small city
>Visitor: Well then, surely there won't be any difference, so far as ruling is concerned, between the character of a great household, on the one hand, and the bulk of a small city on the other? – Young Socrates: None. – It's clear that there is one sort of expert knowledge concerned with all these things; whether someone gives this the name of kingship, or statesmanship, or household management, let's not pick any quarrel with him.

Aristotle:
>For as household management is the kingly rule of a house, so kingly rule is the household management of a city, or of a nation, or of many nations.
