What I’m proposing is a development that will likely come about this year. I’m talking about the use of drone jammers, or really just electronic jammers in mass to keep entire territories secure against all electronic and robotic weaponry.

I genuinely do not have a clue what the implications of large scale electronic jamming mean for war. Maybe this will make wars less intense, maybe it’ll make wars worse by forcing countries to rely even more on artillery and ballistic missiles to attack positions—who knows. What I do know is that with drones, like with many other weapons made throughout history, a new type of fortification has been made to counter them and keep people safe.

If terminators come into being they'd probably be autonomous and jamming wouldn't do anything. The achilles heal of terminators would be either other terminators/drones or rpgs I think.

? Life isn’t a sci fi movie fucking idiot. We’re on the cusp of anti electronic devices being developed in mass in response to the comically high overuse of drones for nearly everything. If even one successful example of anti electronic fortification is seen, that’s it for most drone, guided missile, and laser assault systems.

You think I care about some shitty robot right now? If that hunk of metal and circuits gets hit by a blast wave of radiation once it becomes completely useless permanently.

It just means that if war comes I'll have to build dozens upon dozens of kilometers of field fucking telephone lines, the worst shit an army has to offer, and I thought modern warfare was already dehumanizing enough.
On another note are wire-guided drones not a thing?

>>2224985
Why the would you attach a wire to a drone? That’s too inconvenient and leave drones increasingly vulnerable, and the wires themselves would reveal the location of the operator(s). Besides, war is already inhumane.

Anti electronic warfare isn’t here yet, but it’s good to know that it’s coming given the likelihood and developments already being seen that suggest its arrival.

>>2224966
You guys never played rts games. The best winning strategy is always spamming. It also worked during WWII. Nothing could defeat rpg spam. But rifle spam probably.

>>2224933
It's been doable technically longer than drones, it's just operationally difficult for various reasons, and thats not going to change.

>>2224990
Okay bro, go throw an entire depot’s worth of your robots directly into the blast radius of an EMP-equipped nuclear bomb

>>2225005
People can hardly make nitroglycerin, which is a prerequisite for rpgs. Even timothy mcveight use just plain fertilizer. Hamas missiles also use plain fertilizer I think. I think we shouldn't expect emp bombs…

>>2224988
Are you seriously thinking the wire would visibly start from the controller's location? But using drones for observation is very much effective and safe even with a wire. And wired suicide drones work in open areas or over short distances, certainly better than wireless ones if EM jammers are concerned.

A plan defeated before it was even conceived

Should this not be on akm ackshually

>>2225021
>Are you seriously thinking the wire would visibly start from the controller's location?
Bro really thought it'd be set up so you can reel it back to the operator and catch him like some cartoon.
Why would you not used a launching point?
>>2225031
>Should this not be on akm ackshually
Yes.

>yeah bro, we’re going to swarm the planet with drones and anti anti drone tech using weapons designed to primarily attack radar guided weapons and drones.

Read your own article

Also I just find this piece to be exceptionally funny. Millions or even billions poured into a technology just for it to be beaten with such a simplistic method.

>>2225043
Any EMF source strong enough to be a jammer is an extremely bright radio source that can be locked on to

>>2225085
Why would you focus on a wonder weapon when the majority of the population in a terminator scenario would be the ones fighting it. Just spam rpgs and then you win simple as.

>>2225090
It's not even a wonder weapon. It's a very slight code change to pre existing quadcooters to simply home in on whatever the brightest source is if it can't receive proper signals every n milliseconds. You would still be hitting jammers with the same $400 quadcopter carrying a mortar shell.

>>2225095
you're assuming the drones or robots can be jammed when they probably have plans for that ahead of time.

>>2225042
Launch points would not even be needed for actions that are close-range in drone terms like ambushes really come to think of it

I’m just going to point out the fact that you can put electronic jammers underground or in interiors than exposed to any projectiles. Like this is already done. I don’t know why one of you guys have realized this by now.

How do you harden the antennas, you just have a bunch of them on standby or make them out of massive steel blocks? How about energy, would be a pretty big bunker with all the equipment buried too.

this is the second drone thred this week full of the most insistent retards. have you dumb cunts watched a video recently?

the power generation requirements for lazor/microwave/jamming means drones aren't going anywhere

You can put a hole through the wall wiseass

>>2225567
well come to think of it rounds might not be useless but they shoukd be as big as your palm. Those can pierce walls…

soon they will make drones that are insect size that will poison people

drone warfare is here to stay

Unrealistic idea, as our own government needs to use drones and such for our side's defense and surveillance. Just as realistic as all sides destroying their nukes for a safer world. Good luck with that.

>>2224933
>I genuinely do not have a clue what the implications of large scale electronic jamming mean for war. Maybe this will make wars less intense, maybe it’ll make wars worse by forcing countries to rely even more on artillery and ballistic missiles to attack positions—who knows

maybe more attacks on critical infrastructure that don't utilize bombs. Imagine jammers being used to take down entire power grids.

>>2225687
how do you know they don't already do this

>>2226134
>guns won't be invented because our side also uses swords

>>2224933
But you can just fly drones all over these if they have cable attached? Not maybe 100km but at least 5km.
