>>660972 >What socialist policies are needed so that all proles may live lives as healthy as this man? Public awareness campaigns + fitness clubs. Advertise the benefits of diet and exercise, and cultivate a social culture centered around athletics, self improvement, and physical fitness enthusiasm. Have public fitness centers where gym equipment is readily available and clubs get together to meet. Not only will this improve social cohesion and combat alienation as well as improve individual quality of life, it will also benefit the general public as a more healthy population will put less strain on the health care system, freeing up public resources.
For whatever reason, socialists don't put nearly enough emphasis on exercise and tend to associate being jacked with fascism. We need to take back what it means to be jacked, and apply a socialist value system to it. We need to bring back the concept of the new soviet man.
>>661006 There is indeed a difference between weight training for health, and weight training to be a champion. The ladder entails bombarding your body with training volume and workloads above and beyond what the human body can reasonably accommodate. The result is that injury rates increase, but so to does gains. You're more likely to injure yourself training this way, but you will get so much bigger and stronger much faster than if you were to train with lower volumes and workloads on a more sustainable program. Conversely, theres training for health. Weightlifting has a fuckload of health benefits: it reduces cancer rates, heart disease, keeps bones and joints strong and healthy into old age, effectively preventing arthritis, you look good naked ect. However, by training in a more sustainable manner with lower workloads, you may never get as strong and as big if you were to put extra time in the gym, but you'll also avoid the risk of inflammation and overuse injury, which are quite common among worldclass strength athletes. Its one of the reasons why steroid use is so prevalent. Thats the trade off.
Pic related is Jack Lalanne. Example of pinnacle human health. Lifted weights his entire life and made it into a ripe old age of 96. Back in his hay-day he was doing pushups by the hundred and swimming the English channel.

Some body fat is actually healthier than none at all. It's better for your energy levels, because your body burns fat for energy. Also the body draws out toxins and stores them in fat, where it does minimal damage. So if you have a very small body fat percentage your body burns muscle tissue for energy, and second, those toxins have nowhere to do and so are dispersed through the organs and blood stream. Obviously, having too high of a body fat percentage is the most unhealthy of these options.
