South Korea is neoliberalism on steroids. A handful of chaebols own nearly everything. In 2009, they fired like 40% of all auto factory employees in the country and then got the courts to force the fired workers to pay the companies millions in damages for lost productivity and protests.

They also murdered quite a few union activists. The country is so bad that most young koreans call it hell korea. People literally commit suicide in SK because they didn't get into the top university or because they can't afford wide eye surgery. North korean defectors actually hate south korea a lot. Quite a few north koreans say life is impossible there and get discriminated everywhere. There was a north korean who said she would have never come to SK if she knew how bad it was and refused to bring her family over.

People with college degrees live in ugly, worn-out apartment buildings and have maybe 200-400 sq feet of living space. Your career, salary and future earning potential are dependent on how far up the hierarchy your parents in one of the handful of chaebols that dominate the economy and what university you went too. If you drop out of college, you are considered worthless and will shamed by everyone and destined for poverty.

Food is much more expensive in south korea than america but the average salary is like 25,000 dollars.

I'm not talking about a cult therapy session nor Christianity though they are pretty much doing the same thing, but their opinion of China.

Why China? Well, besides other factors such as size, history, and communism, an important one is the jealousy of a prostitute towards a normal woman. Like, they're all Asians, but how can the Chinese not be a "whore" for Uncle Sam? The Chinese' very existence shakes the moral superiority in being an "Uncle Kim" for Uncle Sam. "Uncle Tom" had the same beef with free blacks before the American Civil War. And Korean soldiers were even more brutal than the Americans during the Vietnam War. Those are all the examples of the "virgin shaming" mentality of a whore.

So to wrap it up, it all began with the fear they have of the United States. They transfer that fear into a "foreign" entity called the PRC in order to achieve catharsis if you like. They do this as well to other entities. For example, chaebols look down on average people like dogs, but then they act like dogs to the Americans. As ironic as it may sound, chaebols privilege, social status and reputation built on discriminating against the mid-lower class in South Korea cannot exist without them being the American lapdogs.

Likewise, for the average people, chaebols and corrupted politicians are the enemy, but not Uncle Sam's military, the CIA, Christianity, and their fundamental self-hate. Nobody dares to solve the real problem, rather they project their fears about the real problem onto something else as if praying to God can defeat the real enemy. The political figures who also dare to make small moves to question the big brother also get taken out by the "invisible hand" that is pulling the strings from behind the scenes.
