I was reading about the planism movement of the interwar period, they were rightoids who believed in planned economies with private property. After the war they withered away.
My question is why? Why did keynesianism and later market fundamentalism took over the capitalist world and the idea of planned capitalist economies become inexistent and even oxymoronic?

I just released something:
Market fundamentalism has grown so entrached in our society that we have merket socialists but not planned capitalists.

There were a bunch of bourgeois political scientists and whatnot in the early 20th century who felt that bourgeois democracy and laissez-faire capitalism had exhausted themselves, and that the future would be in the hands of some kind of openly undemocratic "elite" who would "rationally" manage society. World War I and the Great Depression strengthened this belief. James Burnham's "The Managerial Revolution" is the most enduring example of such thinking.

These sentiments declined after WWII since many bourgeois economists and politicians were now trumpeting the superiority of bourgeois democracy against "totalitarianism" (by which was meant fascist states and the USSR) and arguing that Keynesian policies were allowing capitalism to thrive while behaving "responsibly."

By the end of the 1970s Keynesianism was being blamed for inflation and other problems, which led to the ascendancy of neoliberalism among bourgeois economists and politicians.

It all makes sense, planned economies have a stigma and such I just find weird how planism/neosocialism hasen't been taken back from the trashcan of ideology in these last 14 years of crisis.

"planned capitalism" is just corporatism, and actually existing capitalism is always planned to at least some extent.

The day when leftypol users learn to stop using left vs right dichotomy when discussing economic and government policies in politics due to the fact that it’s not 18th century France anymore is the day when the sun explodes

You types are great because regarding the broader movement, you'll never amount to anything but a pseud who will have no impact on anything in his lifetime. Main character syndrome ass having ass. You guys remind me to be humble and never for one second think that my opinion will matter in the grand scheme. I'm a nobody on the internet with no credentials and no mass audience. I'm no Marx, I'm no Lenin, I'm just a guy, and so are you.

every capitalist economy goes to planning whenever they need to. most notably war. even the Nazis did. but even things like laws banning certain commodities can be seen as a form of planning, since they're in-kind measures
