When it comes to politics, I'm interested in the different sides of politics and ideas people have. But I never really formed my own political stance. Rather I always viewed politics from a neutral observer's perspective.

>>679929 Grilling with friends is my #1 go to activity. I am a communist because capitalism makes it much worse in so many ways.
I unironically just want to grill and have some beers with friends, listening to music and talking. But work sucks, public transportation sucks, everything is very expensive, public spaces are being reduced dramatically (can't grill anywhere except your own backyard assuming you have one).
Once you start getting into your 30s grilling is harder. Everyone's busy with bullshit. If you peel back the veil, you'll find out that the reason you can't grill in peace is because of capitalism.
Under communism, there will be state-provided state of the art grills and equipment in parks dedicated to grilling. No need to even buy shit. Meat, charcoal/gas, aluminum foil, beers, smoking pellets, all available at the People's Grill Park Repository, right on premises.

>>679929 I think people who have been on forums for a long time know that letting Nazis in (other than a single pet Nazi to shoot spitballs at) is like opening up a big ol' deadly can of poison that will eventually destroy your website. That's when a culture of nihilism eventually turns into *active* nihilism. This isn't even a strictly political judgement. The same goes for true schizos and outright lunatics.
Also, confusing a web forum for real life. They intersect but they're not the same thing. So going on crusades or trying to meme yourself into real life is a dangerous trap that becomes unmoored. You fall in love with your own memes and then eventually it all collapses in on itself. And you have to accept there are certain limitations to this format, so to make the most of it, it's best to aim for it be (a) fun and (b) mildly informative.
Also arguing with people is kind of pointless.
>The only way to decisively defeat an argument is to let its own inner tendencies defeat it. A comprehensive refutation requires that each and every attack be shown to ultimately redound to the attacker’s detriment. Once an idea’s come up against its own limits, been hoisted by its own petard, that’s a blow it can’t recover from, one that’s stamped on its face forever. Public exposure of its inherent shortcomings guarantees it can’t recover from the defeat to resume its former role — the flaws that caused its downfall will only bring it to ruin over and over again, confirming the original judgment. >This technique is known as immanent critique. My claim is that immanent critique and the dialectical method are one and the same. Both are based on letting [lassen] the object of study testify on its own behalf just long enough to indict itself and transform into its putative other. The calm poise with which the dialectician squares off against any given adversary derives from her faith in “the universal irony of the world,” the certainty that no attack is entirely one with itself. The dialectical approach, in general, is to meet hard with soft, to be presuppositionless, like clear water, and to let reality (the force of an attack) be its own undoing.https://redsails.org/on-dialectics/ Anonymous 2022-01-08 (Sat) 00:15:54 No. 680763

This confused me because although housing with yards exist in the countryside, in cities everyone lives in blocks, and suburbs hardly exist.
Where would this BBQ possibly take place? At the public grills in the park of course.
It was a good time. Chinese like to slice their beef pretty thin however. There was no brisket and ribs doused with SWEET BABY RAY'S original barbecue sauce.

Cool. Hope to see you at our door, rather than the fascists, when life gets bad for you. Our solution of "rational economic planning" and "stopping a small group from stealing all your wages" is a whole lot more effective than "kill the Jews" or "wage a genocidal war that will also kill you in the fighting and leave the country in rubble"

I'm the same as OP except I've done some reading on Marx + Communism and plan on reading more, just haven't gotten around to it. Also am currently reading The Condition of the Working Class in England in 1844. Obviously you guys don't need it but I'm sympathetic to the ideology as almost everyone I know who I've talked to about politics legit shits on communism for NO reason. And when they give a reason it makes no sense. I was talking to someone about the situation in Kazakhstan and they laughed at how "communism is so good" and I have no idea why.

>>685332 I'm not a socialist because I don't believe in any current economic system as a be-all and end-all. In general I don't like to label myself with an economic side or political "team" such that it portrays this issue as a black and white situation.
There are positive aspects such as its aim to reduce inequality, prevent worker exploitation, and promote common good rather than one's selfish needs. However, it also demotivates entreprenurial spirit, creates dependance on monetary welfare, and excess labour market regulation could lead to lower employment.
