>>683236> means the government owns it. Which is essentially going to fuck everyone over since the government is run by humans who are themselves self centered. And the solution to that is to have a system where being self-centred is rewarded? That’s like saying it’s human nature to take a violent response to conflict because that’s what cavemen did, therefore murder should not just be legal, but encouraged as a way to solve societal problems.
Some people can be self-centred to an unhealthy degree, and some of those people might try to join the government in order to be corrupt, communism makes this illegal and discourages it. Unlike the corrupt politicians under capitalism, corrupt communist politicians needed to be very subtle with it and in the end did not have much more than legitimate citizens. Under capitalism many conflicts of interests are not considered corrupt because it’s considered “unfair” to stop politicians from being industrious or entrepreneurial when that’s what capitalism is about, as a result politicians are some of the richest members in capitalist society.
There is also common ownership under capitalism as well, you own your house but not necessarily the land underneath it and you’re expected to pay taxes on anything you possess or buy that would imply an increase in wealth. If I pay 20% income tax, then the government has a 20% ownership of my wage which they invest in themselves or individuals who are lobbying them. Once again this imagined communist dystopia is actually just present day capitalism
