 No.686468

It's been roughly a year since the military junta in Myanmar came to power. Since then, a full blown civil war was broken out between the military and the vast majority of Myanmar.
There has been fighting between rural ethnic groups fighting for self-determination and the military; there's been fighting between the civilian government's PDF militia and the military; there's even been fighting between returning Maoists and the military.

Two things:

1) Sources on fighting between Burmese PLA and the military happening?

2) CPB has said that they follow Mao, but in the form of ML-MZT. So what they could mean is that they either follow the CPP-NPA line or simply the Chinese one.
For sure they're not Gonzaloids though.

The military junta is under sanctions from the US and buys military hardware like submarines from China so this means they are the good guys and those jungle warrior are contra formed by the CIA.

Is this a bit?
Are you trolling?
You can't be serious that a party which spent 30 years in exile IN CHINA is a CIA op.

They're under sanctions because they arrested their glowie pet Suu Kyi, who didn't even change anything during her time in government. She was just a figurehead and got deposed.

So are the Karen boys the good guys? With that name alone I feel like donating all my life savings to their army.

The most interesting thing about the Myanmar conflict (aside from the communist role) is that its pushing the boundaries of what a ragtag irregular force can do.

After just a few months the liberal side has acquired capability of craft producing RPGs mortars, mortar shells, Claymore mines, and now they're adopting 3d printing guns.

I've never seen a guerrilla formation have such productive capabilities tbh. (of course they received help from Ethnic armed organizations but the point still stands).

Need to prove they can fire then. Even with a 3d printer they're still going to need actual machinists to make all the parts that actually matter on a gun.

There are dozens of videos of FGC-9 dumping flawlessly at least a full magazine (after that they usually do not show, probably because it starts to jam/fall apart) making the rounds on Twitter.

That said i know very little about 3d printer so your machinists remark could be true.
The fact they can print rifles in the middle of the forest still is remarkable (and sets a precedent for future conflicts around the world).

Reminder that there are like 1000 militias in Myanmar and there is no hope for any one of them to win

 No.687623

But the military can't fight a war on a thousand fronts.
I predict it'll all fall apart on all sides, devolving into total mayhem for a few years.

 No.687630

Neither can each militia. It's been like this for a while. I don't think there's much hope for real change.

 No.687637

Myanmar military is showing signs of being overextended and in distress on multiple fronts.
The real problem is that their opponents are mostly cringe libs, so their victory would change fuck all in the country except maybe the racism towards minorities (maybe).
