PLUS ELECTRIFICATION Anonymous 2022-01-14 (Fri) 18:56:54 No. 691239
The worldwide energy crisis is already making an impact on the working class, not only elevating the price of consumer goods, but also the price of household heating. Inflation caused by it is making the liberals showing their true faces again – they are calling for abolishing the social security measurements in order to combat inflation and are calling for government help to be sent to the “middle class” small entrepreneurs. Privatization of the energy sector has lead to the companies imposing a crippling overhead on their services. In fact, capitalist societies are not able to provide for the energetic demands of the modern society. As the slave society was powered by muscle power, the feudal society by water power (mills), the capitalist society was powered by the steam power. All those sources of power preceded the coming mode of production. The socialist society will be powered by the power of electricity, because only a socialist, centrally-planned, rationally calculated, system of energy distribution can meet the challenges of powering a modern society. Only the State has the ability to build the necessary power plants, transformer stations, power lines, etc., by having the means to plan on both local and global level and not having to follow the profit motive. Lenin has captured the essence of socialism perfectly in the slogan “Communism is soviet power plus the electrification of the whole country.”. In every new mode of production, the energy source has been massively more powerful than in the previous one and that is the reason for the societal change it always brought. Water mills allowed for not only continuous work that is less labour-intensive, it also allowed to put out more force than any human was able to in the age of muscle power mode of production. This advancement lead to breakthroughs in metallurgy, which has set the stage for the coming steam age, by allowing us to construct boilers, that would withstand the steam pressure. Steam has allowed us to surpass the locally-bound, immobile, energy source of flowing water, by letting us carry the energy source with us, for example on a ship voyage. The mobility of capitalist mode of production is best objectified in the image of trains and railroads for a reason. The next step was electricity, which for the first time in human history, has allowed for the machinery to perform tasks previously thought to be limited to the area of human labour only. Not only that, it’s elegant way of being transported has allowed an average family to take full advantage of it in their daily life. Outside of the obvious house appliances, it gave us modern, high-precision, machinery, computers, ability to exchange thoughts easily, to harness power orders of magnitude bigger than it was possible with steam. The environmental issues and the position of the oil barons in the global economy can only be overcame through the introduction of nuclear power plants, which again, as history shows us, can only be developed on a big scale by the State. A symbol of communists for the XXI century should no longer be hammer and sickle, it should be a red lightning. A lightning that foretells the coming storm that will transform the world. We must DEMAND an IMMEDIATE ELECTRIFICATION worldwide.
