>>11653forget decolonization, what's necessary is recolonization.
once recolonized, only then can an authentic decolonization struggle begin. the present world is trapped in a half measure: decolonized in much of the superstructure but colonized at the base. when the Americans stole the empires of Europe they found it unnecessary to maintain a garrison in the area, so long as coca cola, dow chemical and kaiser aluminum are left alone what's the point of keeping a flag up for vanity? and so when people become upset about the poverty foisted on them by colonialism, they direct their anger at their countrymen and collaborators and not at their actual, distant, rulers. revolutions come and go, and then a nice CIA man flies over to explain to the new guy that he's perfectly free to play with this or that matter domestically - so long as he doesn't touch any of the live wires through which real power flows. were he to do that, well, he might just find he gets a shock… and then the CIA guy will have to make another plane trip to speak to his successor.
so recolonize, send out the royal navy to stick a British flag on top of everyone and everything, have the infinitely suffering island redeem itself in playing the gnostic judas' role in man's salvation.
