Legitimately is this board running out of new topics to make threads out of?

 No.14034

The posters here are too dumb or too sheltered (or both) to make worthwhile topics.

 No.14035

I'll try to come up with something. Just gotta do my part.

 No.14036

Okay let's talk about the Kakumeiteki Himote Domei

 No.14037

What if we had a thread for coming up with ideas for threads? And if something is interesting enough we can make a thread, and link it here? It could also help organize and centralize discussion. Maybe encourage people to archive threads for posterity if they get any good discussion.

lets be honest the problem isnt the people (well it kinda is but eh), the real problem is the overall conditions of this site. And this problem is that WE DONT HAVE ENOUGH PEOPLE. AND BECAUSE OF THAT the amount of people that can offer new interesting ideas and responses are limited.

Idk what to talk about

Anon this site is a slow board because the mods actually care about the rules so this community doesn’t devolve into the mess that is /pol/ or any mainstream social media site. The only websites I know of that can simultaneously have some level of coherent quality while being this irrelevant is that one African forum nairaland and shockingly enough YouTube comments as that community is international and doesn’t favour a single type of media or idea

 No.14041

>>14033
no, interesting threads get made all the time
the problem is they don't get bumped and the shit ones stay up, but for the most people people use the site as a glorified fbi.gov in /itg/ and country specific politics generals.

Nobody thought my idea of putting up leftypol banners in universities was a good idea.

I was going to make a few threads but this website doesn’t work too well with Crapple.

>Anon this site is a slow board because the mods actually care about the rules so this community doesn’t devolve into the mess that is /pol/ or any mainstream social media site. T

yeah but that doesnt change the fact that this board is decaying over time because of the low pop. Hell the mods themselves admitted that this board is dying because of the small userbase. Remember the fucking embassy incident a while back.

>>14042

do it. dont listen to the naysayers. JUST. DO. IT.

You mean when mods reset the site and there was an explosion in the active user base before it died out after a few weeks?

 No.14046

>>14045
no im talking about the oh leftypol is dying thread so we need to set up an embassy, in other different sites. Of course that failed but the problem that caused the embassy reaction in the first place still exists. And something has to be done to solve it.

I think the formula for any successful forum is for it to be (a) fun and (b) mildly informative. So if you stumble across something that's interesting, that could be a topic. Or more jokes and fun stuff. So "Havana Syndrome" is a thing so let's have a thread where we all catch Havana Syndrome and make jokes about what that is and what it's making us do. "It's making me hope that you're Havana nice day!!!"

A lot of that gets dumped in Siberia though.

I'll have to find it, but there was also someone making book covers for Marxist-Leninist classics like Mao's "On Guerrilla Warfare" but he was doing the book covers in the style of Burger patriotard books. You can have fun photoshop threads.

 No.14048

>>14033
All the fun got sent to Siberia, so now the main attraction is dying of boredom.

Put up posters that has a QR code in it.

 No.14050

I have a what I think is a good and unique idea for a thread, but I haven't found a day where I'd want to sit around to contribute to it. The weather outside is too nice. Maybe in another week or two.

The board isn't dying, overall we have better numbers than on 8chan afaik. We recieved a small dip due in part to obsessive spam, but that was only temporary and we will be bounving back soon enough. The embassies thing was poorly executed imo, and the mod team pretty much agreed on that point. However as a proof of concept it eorked and plenty of new (good faith) users came to chdck us out.

 No.14055

honestly after thinking a bit i think generals and side boards are what did us in

so true

 No.14069

i have called out a nazbolization of leftypol. hopefully if we move in that direction we can win more support from other channers which in turn leads to more new topics being made.

 No.14078

We used to have a lot of people (around 600 IP's daily) and for some reason we took a big dive and now we have around 350, what happened?

 No.14079

Maybe there is a better way to sort threads than normal bump order, to encourage people to post in threads that haven't seen traffic in a while.

The 'Total IPs' counter was fixed. As explained before, it previously was just a the sum of IP counts of each board, so if you posted on 5 boards from the same IP, it would count 5 instead of 1. The devs fixed it so that one IP on many boards would be counted as 1 IP,
Additionally, Tor exit node IPs (not .onion posting, but clearnet posting) was blocked so spammers using them for a post then switching to a new IP are no longer showing as a dozen IPs.

Picrel: IPs per day. If you calculated yesterday using the previous total formula, it would be around 525, while it's really 355 because most people on /siberia/ and /alt/ boards use /leftypol/ as well, which now counts as 1 instead of many.

this
i don't even know why they exist if you want to talk about video games go to a video game forum
there should be at most /leftypol/ and /other/ but really not even that just make more pages and increase post limits

It sounds like you're fooling yourself, doomer. That's just showing the last 8 weeks. The site had higher stats before the coup drama pushed a large amount of users away from both sites, which takes more than a few weeks to recover from unless some happenings or new culture draws people in. The takeaway from this graph would be that despite months of numerous dedicated leftychan saboteurs and /pol/ spammers, the site is still stable, slowly growing and quickly recovering from shocks.
As for 'small', we're one of the largest alternate English imageboards, even after a dip /leftypol/ alone is still larger than sportschan, soyjakparty, lainchan, 7chan, endchan, 9chan.tw and every 8chan board apart from /qresearch/. Bigger than [s4s] and /fa/, and over 3 times bigger than /news/ on 4chan. And as for 'always', you clearly didn't even check.

The mods don’t want more people because those people might have opinions they don’t like

>>14040
The mods don’t care about the rules at all they just use them as an excuse to curate the board to their own shit taste

 No.14097

Yes. I am starting to believe so. All threads lately are shitty reddit like boring newfaggy mental retardation.

>i don't even know why they exist if you want to talk about video games go to a video game forum
no, like, years ago you would just post a /leftyvidya/ thread and we would all see it, no need to use an overboard or flip between boards or whatever

im still thinking about it but the best way to treat this may be to build side-boards but not pressure people to use them, i wouldnt recommend deleting them or anything

i always kind of figure /leftypol/ would remain alive even if a shit ton of activity was deported to siberia aka /b/ but it seems like we kind of leeched the site due to the policy of shipping everyone there who shitposts any
