I wanted to collect a list of numerous ww2 events and deep lore that I could find, ranging from known to unknown to full schizophrenic, if you know any obscure events that aren't on the list, feel free to add them here, bonus for non-german lore.

In the '60s there was a genre of erotic books in Hebrew describing sexual relationships between prisoners in concentration camps and German female guards, that sold in Israel. It was called Stalag fiction. It even got made into movies

>Franco withdrawing the nationality of spanish exiles so the nazis could put them on concentration camps.
>10.000 spaniards at Mathausen-Gusen concentration camp.
>Francisco Boix Photographs
>Franco Speaking English (video related)

>Suzdal POW camp
>Paulus reading Das Kapital during captivity.

>National Committee For A Free Germany
>KPD members in exile start it while in the USSR
>admit Nazi POWs in
>use insignia of imperial Germany
>praises imperial Germany and imperial Russia for teaming up against Napoleon

Need a lore drop on Seydlitz Truppen, Wehrmacht East German connection, KPD in exile and BDO

>>Franco Speaking English
Not sure if this is better or worst than Mussolini saying spaghetti and the crowd cheering like he just occupied Paris or something

>Franco was the fifth in the generals succession line.

<During 1936, four of the main couping generals died in 'mysterious' circumstances, leaving only Franco to lead the nationalist side.
>Republicans forced into going to the blue division.
<The volunteer force that went to fought in Russia for the nazis didn't get much volunteers, so Franco went and forced republican prisoners to go to the blue division in order to help Hitler.

Something that happened post-war was that the king Juan Carlos, during a hunting trip with his older brother, "accidentally" killed him

>bombing of nagasaki theory that it was picked because of its catholic population
Nagasaki was bombed because the preferred target city (forgot which one) had cloudy weather so the bombers would not be able to find the target. The third target was Kokura. Tokyo was pretty low on the target list, since it was firebombed already and incurred massive damage from it (also probably shouldn't kill the emperor if you want somebody to negotiate with). Kyoto had been vetoed because a general had been there on vacation.
>conspiracy theory about the warsaw uprising suggesting the red army could have helped it but did nothing
In the Lenni Brenner book he actually talks a lot about how Zionists could have aided the warsaw uprising (and jews in general during the holocaust) and did not. The "Red Army didn't help" is a popular post-war cold warrior myth though,
>alfred liskov
warned the soviets of the german invasion the night before it happened
>nazi rape machines
a theory that they tested automated sex toys on prisoners

>MKULTRA was originally nazi research that the US took from paperclip. Leader of the research called 'Poisoner In Chief'
>US/OSS immediate betrayal of Korean, Chinese, Phillipine Communists, who were partisans allied with the US, and (actually some of this happened before the end of the war like all bullets had stopped being shot) releasing captured japanese fascists and japanese aligned phillipinos in order to arm them and send them as soliders against korean, chinese and phillipino communists, also indonesian and basically every country in south east asia, tibet and so on.
(So remember that, the next time an ignorant says "N-north Korea started the Korean War!")
>Royal Family is actually German and also and English King (Edward VIII) literally abdicated because he was a strong fascist sympathiser, who had actually concocted a plan with the Nazis that he would be the ruler of Britain if they lost. Several other royals were active fascist sympathisers. He also had a son who was a freemason
>Klaus Barbie, literally aided the Medijjin cartel and pablo escobar
>Rudel made up his record and never stopped being a nazi, hiding Dr. Mengele in S. America for a time.

>hungarian decleration of war and fdr's bizarre speech about it
Basically in Hungary under Regent Horthy Horthy himself never engaged too directly in governance and formally he was just a figurehead and the prime minister was chosen through elections, but these elections had a very limited electorate and it was always a single party puppeted by Horthy which won the elections and the prime minister too was effectively chosen by him.

About half a year before the start of WW2, Pál Teleki was made the prime minister because many member of the ruling elite felt that the previous prime minister was too subservient to Germany (the way that the previous prime minister was made to resign is quite funny in itself - some people revealed that despite his very strong anti-semitism he is in fact of Jewish descent). This Pál Teleki guy actually refused to invade Poland together with Germany even though Germany kept annexing land to Hungary from neighboring countries to fulfill its irredentist territorial claims (Horthy's regime spent the whole interwar period with obsessing over these claims btw). In late 1940 he was involved in making a treaty of friendship between Hungary and the then pro-German Yugoslavia - keep in mind that entering into diplomatic relations with neighbouring countries was very hard for Hungary because it had territorial claims against every single one of them.

And then in early 1941 an anti-German coup happens in Yugoslavia and thus Hitler decides that he wants to invade Yugoslavia. This required German troops to pass through Hungary. Pál Teleki was threatened by Hitler that if he didn't allow this, then they will declare war on Hungary. He was then informed by the British ambassador that if he allowed Germany to attack Yugoslavia, they will too declare war on Hungary.

Both his superior and his subordinate went behind his back - Horthy agreed to Germany's demands and the chief of the Hungarian General Staff started privately making arrangements with Germany in letting them attack Yugoslavia from Hungary.

Not long after he was found at his prime ministerial residence with a pistol in his hand, a gunshot wound to his head and a letter next to him addressed to Horthy:

<Your Serene Highness:

<We broke our word, - out of cowardice - , with respect to the Treaty of Permanent Peace outlined in your Mohács speech. The nation feels it, and we have thrown away its honor.
<We have allied ourselves to scroundels, - since not a single word is true about the alleged atrocities. Not against Hungarians, not even against Germans. We will become body-snatchers! A nation of trash. I did not hold you back. I am guilty". Signed: Pál Teleki

He was then replaced with a pro-German prime minister who declared war on Yugoslavia which resulted in Hungary receiving even more land on the behalf of Hitler.

This one is from 1966
>The atomic warheads lost at the Palomares sea.
<On 1966, an american b-52 collisioned another plane and dropped the H-bombs it had at the sea near Palomares, a town of southern spain. These bombs didn't implode, and a minister of Spain, in order to prove the beaches were safe, bathed in them. To this day, there is still radiation emanating from the unexploded bombs.
In fact I don't know if they landed on the sea or in land, (I think it was in land).
They haven't yet gotten out of there, proclaiming that it's better that way so we "don't disturbe the plutonium".
There's an actual megaton, and it's in Spain.
In southern spain there's also an underwater egyptian mummy, which was being transported by ship but the ship went down (it was 1838) and the mummy is still there.

Also reminds me of an incident Jan 23 1961, the day the USA nearly nuked itself; A Boeing B-52 Stratofortress carrying two 4-megaton Mark 39 nuclear bombs broke up in mid-air, dropping its nuclear payload in the process on the residential area of Goldsborough.

I need sources on the nazi rape machines

NFKD and the BDO basically were the nucleus from which GDR and the NVA emerged from. Paulus, Wilhelm Adam, Arno von Lenski among others joined the NVA post WW2 or went into politics joining the National Democratic Party of Germany (which was a party to incorporate ex nazis, the middle class and other forces into the GDR's National Front).

>mitsubishi and Toyota made zero planes and cars for the Japanese empire
<Literally the topic of a Miyazaki movie
>Volkwagen and Mercedes-Benz worked for the nazis and alongside BMW, Daimler and Audi (under the name Auto Union) used slave labour from concentration camp for their vehicles and tanks
<the Beetle was Hitler's dream car for the people, thus VOLKswagen - Peoples Car, leaving Porsche to be the elite vehicle (and today both are expensive)
<The swastika was a modification of the original logo, which was intended to symbolise a propellor blade. Because BMW made aircraft, originally.
>ferrari and alfa Romeo produced tanks for Mussolini
<They performed horrifically
>GM and Ford provided discounts and built factories for Germany
<Ford got a literal medal pinned to his chest by Hitler prior to the war and had leaflets of anti-Semitic propaganda spread out in his factories.
Automobile companies really loved the nazis didn't they?

>ww2 deep lore
Very lazy post incoming and it's only tangentially related since it started before WW2 and likely continues to this day but I think it's intriguing how the history of special forces tends to be closely related to old noble bloodlines, esoteric wankery and of course, fascism.

The first example that comes to my mind is the Italian "black prince" Borghese, commander of the navy's X MAS commandos who were pioneers in underwater raiding tactics and who, by all accounts, had a very respectable record compared to the performance of Italian regulars. Borghese went beyond a regular Italian fascist and was also an avowed Nazi, often seen wearing a german iron cross on his uniform.
At the end of the war Borghese was such an upstanding nazi that the American OSS had no choice but to help him escape, and a few decades later got caught planning a fascist coup in the but was forced to run like a bitch to fellow facist Franco's Spain once his plans went public.
Also as an interesting note, the X MAS was noted to be very effective in their raids against the allies but eventually their scope shifted into anti-communist partisan action on land, despite being a navy unit. The X MAS often teamed up with the SS to terrorize civilian populations in order to snuff out partisans with zealous brutality, employing every single barbaric method and device they could come up with no matter how much of a war crime it is - in fact, the war crimer it is the better it seemed.

I bet if you dig up the story of any (ANY) first world special forces unit you're bound to find some inbred noble faggot, Thelema-tier fuckery and/or actual nazi worship in there for no discernible reason.

>Unit 731 and its human experimentation a la Mengele
Also the monster of Manchuria under japan,https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobusuke_Kishi
>After World War II, Kishi was imprisoned for three years as a suspected Class A war criminal. However, the U.S. government did not charge, try, or convict him, and eventually released him as they considered Kishi to be the best man to lead a post-war Japan in a pro-American direction. With U.S. support, he went on to consolidate the Japanese conservative camp against perceived threats from the Japan Socialist Party in the 1950s. Kishi was instrumental in the formation of the powerful Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) through a merger of smaller conservative parties in 1955, and thus is credited with being a key player in the initiation of the "1955 System", the extended period during which the LDP was the overwhelmingly dominant political party in Japan.

>30mm cannon assassination attempt on Stalin
Oh the

Ex-prime minister Abe Shinzo it's the grandson of this scumbang; which explains his visits to the yasukuni shrine and his obsetion over not wanting to aknowledge japan's participation in war crimes during ww2 in textbooks. Also, lots, of not, most of the LDP members are descendants of ww2 generals or politicians, which well, it's like the son of hitler entered German politics but nobody cared.

not many people know this, but the Reichstag (parliament of the Third Reich) didn't assemble in the actual Reichstag (the building), but in the Kroll Opera House.
also Hitler's personal bodyguards actually participated in a number of larger battles in the war

Confederate Okinawa
>Earlier in the morning [of May 29, 1945] . . . Marines had attacked eastward into the rains of Shuri Castle and had raised the Confederate flag. When we learned that the flag of the Confederacy had been hoisted over the very heart and soul of Japanese resistance, all of us Southerners cheered loudly. The Yankees among us grumbled

i always found this one weird

Basically the Germans utilized Islamic fundamentalism and nationalism to provoke diversionary activity, (part of the reason for the deportations to Kazakhstan) and because it's a job mostly for SMERSH in counter-diversion, the numbers and information is patchy and unclear.

Between 1915 and 1922, Mussolini fought in five duels, winning all of them.
The duels were against the Socialist deputies Claudio Treves and Francesco Ciccotti Scozzese, the newsman Mario Missiroli, the anarchist Libero Merlino, and Major Cristoforo Baseggio.
The duels, however, were against the law, and therefore Mussolini had judiciary problems because of them.
In 1921, Benito Mussolini challenged an anti-Fascist newspaper editor named Francesco Ciccotti to a duel with swords. Mussolini injured Ciccotti badly enough that he was unable to continue the fight. The man later fled the country when Mussolini did his March on Rome.
The duel with the director of the newspaper Il Secolo di Milano, Mario Missiroli, happened on the outskirts of Milano on 13 May 1922.
The quarrel between Mussolini and Missiroli started when the latter published an article by Carlo Russo on 21 March 1922 attacking the fascist actions in defense of the agrarian workers of Lomellina, completely changing the facts.
On 10 May the quarrel escalated with the unfair coverage of the Il Secolo, which completely sided with the Socialists and the immediate response "Pietose Illusioni" from Mussolini in the Popolo d'Italia.
Feeling insulted by such article, Missiroli sent a challenge to Mussolini on 12 May, from his reporter Francesco Perotti and his sword teacher Dino Urbani.
As Missiroli was recognised as insulted, he had the right to choose the weapon. He chose the sword.
Mussolini agreed, nominating as his seconds the colonel Roberto Raggio and the engineer Mario Chiesa, both decorated and disabled veterans.
The fight lasted 40 minutes with seven assaults. On the first Mussolini broke the tip of his sword; with the third Missiroli had a minor injury but on the seventh Missiroli was badly injured at his forearm with a large loss of blood. Immediately the doctors and the seconds unanimously stopped the fight.
According to accounts of the fight, the two duelists acted in perfect chivalry but did not reconcile.

The nukes didn't make Japan Surrender, Stalin did. The Japanese hadn't even gotten their reports back on what happened in Hiroshima before they got hit in Nagasaki, they literally had no time to do so. The atomic bombings of Japan had been meant as a "message" to Stalin by Truman in an attempt to scare him.

It's not that different compared to fire bombing entire cities, that it was not necessary to end the war fast because Japan was on the brink of surrendering, and that the green-light was given for three main reasons:
1) Testing the bomb against a real target and live population for scientific and military feedback
2) Optimizing the post war US geopolitical position in a Japan that was also being invaded by the USSR
3) Preparing the cold war and sending a message to the world: look what we are capable to do.

The "we had to do it or sacrifice hundreds of thousands of soldiers" is a retcon taught in school to keep the burger fiction about being the good guys

Taken from the Japan Nuking thread: https://archive.ph/kslGf

why does everyone forget about Reinhard Gehlen, the SS man hand picked by Hitler to run Nazi military intelligence, who made deals with Dulles before the war was even over and got funding from the OSS to set up his Wehrwolf terrorist cells in europe.

Then those morphed into the Gehlen org, GLADIO and later, West German Intelligence.

The Gehlen org helped countless Nazi criminals escape justice, spiriting them away to (conveniently all US aligned) foreign countries. Amongst them would be Otto Skorzeny, Hitler's top commando, who would later become a mercenary in the employ of the CIA and South African intelligence.

Gehlen was rewarded for his service to the CIA by being picked as the founder of the BND, West Germany's intelligence agency, which he filled with Nazi criminals to such an extent that historians are actually unsure if the BND had ANY officers who weren't former SS.

He was a really shit dude. He was also instrumental in the very foundation of NATO.

Why's it in Wien of all places? Why does division does not match real map, just like with Molotov-Ribbentrop?

Fuck if I know

Not an event, but the historical revisionism that the US and UK, among other Allied forces, went to war to "save" the Jews and other victims of the fascists out of the goodness of their hearts. It's so deeply rooted that even modern leftists accept the just war narrative unquestioningly.

> When compared to other mythologies, Lel is very similar to the Greek or the Roman Cupid/Eros. The only difference is that Cupid/Eros strikes hearts using arrows, whereas Lel burns with his ardent flame.

Everyone knows of American-Japanese internment camps, but not a lot of people have heard of the USA kidnapping Japanese Latinos and attempting to use them as hostages for prisoner exchange.

The only bombing of the continental US by the Japanese

this just seems like american bad history tbh. the standard narrative, at least in the UK, is that we went to war because Germany invaded Poland after we told them not to. (less because Poland was an innocent victim of aggression that our hearts went out to, more because we knew they wouldn't stop there.) essentially, a geopolitical motivation rather than a moral one.

That's the academic line. I cannot even count the amount of "de good guys" logic I've heard by adults in the USA. I don't blame them for being ignorant (at least not completely) but it's gotten to the point that people think the USA took Berlin and SAVED Europe. That's certainly the portrayal of most American movies depicting it.
