I believe a good chunk of people are just barely competent enough to get by in life. And a lot rely on a huge amount of help from others to even barely function. Also I'm not necessarily talking about people with mental disabilities necessarily although they may have them, maybe undiagnosed, but just seemingly normal people. Most people just follow the motions as is so all it really takes is to pretend to know what you're doing or at least know the right people to help you to live better in society.
