Any info on this? How can I get into semiconductor field? I want to work on the field and help China in having more chips and causing a shortage in rest of the world. US will feel what it is like to be sanctioned.

 No.13155

what does that even mean. semi-conductor fabrication happens across the globe

Go study electrical engineering.

I think semiconductor shortage will continue for years and people will stop buying new computers and prices will increase. But what about superconductors and superconducting computing?

 No.13170

>>13169
Superconductors need to be really cold to conduct superly, putting computers into powerful freezers is too expensive.
China is building a huge amount of new semiconductor production, the US is also building 2 new fabs, so chip-pricing will go down. Most cost competitive consumer computers might come out of the RISK V corner.

I don't think so, while it is a meme to blame mining they do artificially inflate demand and without them prices would be somewhat lower due to lower demand.

Optical computers are the future. Electrons are outdated, photons will inherit the earth.

>>13174
Nope, you have the cases of some company hording chips and PCB manufacturer artificially scalping the shit of GPU so they can make 312% super profit from it.

i will short the brains of whoever keeps making prices high

GPU prices aren't a result of mining, they're a result of manufacturers fleecing cuz of the pandemic and them predicting a ton of people with disposable income will suddenly get into building PCs.
I bought a couple of decent modern GPUs for a few hundred each cuz I was building a computer right before the pandemic hit.

GPU prices were skyrocketing before the pandemic. It was 100% because of mining speculators.
