Are there actually any real world problems that can be solved by software and wouldn't make the world a worse place?

The more I think about it the less useful programming seems.

Production can be made alot more efficient

 No.14708

 No.14710

There's this thing called scarcity.

 No.14711

Animation, while there are those that are nostalgic for cell animation, computers have streamlined animation making it much cheaper and produce. This has made animation production far more accessible.

Kidney exchange. There are pair swaps (healthy relative or partner gives kidney that is not compatible with the body of the unhealthy one in exchange for a compatible kidney), triple exchanges, and the most spectacular: donation chains.

- computational science
- engineering software
- smart cities is a legitimately good idea under socialism
- demand forecasting to reduce food waste (look up chick filet AI)
- porn image boards
- building automation
- Enterprise resources planning software
- cryptography

Most likely though you will just end up reimplementing another proprietary software, contributing nothing to society.

Artist have embraced computers as a tool for their craft decades ago with the open source Blender being dominant among independent artists.

yes, many menial tasks can be automated and should be. Leaving ultimately the only tasks left to be creative or too complex to be managed by machines.

Did computers reach the limit of their usefulness?

 No.14728

>>14727
not even close. many tasks remain unautomated because its cheaper to pay a minimum wage/thirdoid slave to do it than automate the toil away

A more labor intensive process does not mean high quality. Even for 2D animation with computers you have the huge advantage of being able to correct animation errors. Also shitty cell animation exists.

Moar liek quantity->quality, amrite??
