We need to go back

I liked google glasses

I mean without capitalism and advertising, it'd be great to have a cortana and camera on you without even touching anything

Glassholes

Nah. We'll get there, but it'll be another 5-10 years. Source: strapped a $200 display to my face and fucked up the focus of one of my eyes for a while, on an intermittent and recurring basis. I look forward to it, but I'm waiting for the mainstream tech to improve before I try it again.

The only way to do this safely, at low cost good quality and high volume, would be via low power scanline laser projector. I know pointing a laser in your eye seems counter intuitive, but it has the advantage that you do not need optics. That eliminates the dangers associated with wearing the wrong prescription glasses.

Laser gadgets would not be glasses it would be a noseclip or a headband

The device that google made also had a hole computer, a touch interface, a camera and a microphone, that was too many functions. Most multi-function devices fail, it's better to do a device that does one thing well, but in this case it was also too creepy. (it still is too creepy)

With current technology these are as useless as a smartwatch (and will spy on you even more).

This will be ideal for working while sitting in an airliner. It's also got eye tracking to replace a mouse, so only keyboard is required. Does the hardware have backdoors like IME? I can't find anything about the i7-1265U and security.
