>>36305it wasn't said in the op
still dumb if true
>>36315 Many games have complaints about optimization, but this time it's clear that difficulty debates occupy a large part.
抱怨优化的许多游戏都有,但是这次很明显难度争论占据了很大一部分
>>36319>but this time it's clear that difficulty debates occupy a large part.then it's dumb.
I'm pretty sure there's chinese users who pirated dark souls before that should know about fromsoftware's difficulty and being a staple to there games at this point. The hard difficulty is the point of gameplay i.e Ghosts 'n Goblins or any Kaizo hack/game.
>>36330 That might have a lot to do with Elden Ring breaking into the mainstream this time. It attracted many players drawn by the names of Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R.R. Martin, the beautiful art style, and the epic fantasy adventure. However, these players are not veteran Dark Souls fans and might not have anticipated the high difficulty level included.
>>36400I think they hit the sweet spot lorewise with elden ring, like you don't need to understand every single piece of lore to get a general gist of what where they going with. thematically it's very rich too.
gameplay-wise it's clear FromSoft peaked with Sekiro. they hit a sweet spot where the game was thrilling and satisfying without ever becoming too frustrating. it seems that activision holds that IP though.
>>36548The lore and challenging combat are supposed to pull you into the world and the story, which doesn't really work in Elden Ring. The Lands Between is so dreamlike and fantastical that it feels profoundly unreal, and thus the player is not invested in changing or saving it. The background story is a confusing mess of dueling family drama, and none of it ultimately matters to the player. You roam around, kill enemies, collect some colorful runes and at the end get to choose which color of ending you want. There's no larger theme of decline/rebirth like in the Souls games, and no real hard choices to make.
The DLC was also very clearly not planned on release, but was pulled together after the original game sold incredibly well. The story in SotE makes even less sense than the base game, but again, it doesn't matter because the world is so convoluted and absurd. Anything could happen! Just shut up and enjoy the spectacle!
>>36589>the player is not invested in changing or saving itHave you played any souls game? All of the games heavily emphasize that the word is stuck in some unsalvageable samsara and the game itself is more of a personal struggle than a hero's journey. None of them really incentivize "saving" the world, as if such a goal was possible
> The background story is a confusing mess of dueling family drama, and none of it ultimately matters to the player. Even the dullest players understand that the golden order is a facsimile of the roman empire and that it is a top down imposition on an ancestral land, which already covers most central themes lol. Probably the clearest any of the souls game have ever been. You don't need to understand the intra-faction strifes to get the central theme.
> There's no larger theme of decline/rebirth like in the Souls gamesDid you miss all the deathroot shit what are you talking about, did you even play the game
>>36650Obviously the broad strokes of "world is fucked, player character changes it" are understandable, but it's a lot more complex than "link the fire or don't" this time. Elden Ring has six different endings. You need to understand the background and history of the place if you want to make an informed decision, which is why people are scouring the 'lore' in order to make sense of it all.
>the golden order is a facsimile of the roman empire and that it is a top down imposition on an ancestral landLiterally the first time I've ever heard it described like that, where are you pulling that from?
