I think Trump in 2025 is basically the apotheosis of postmodern politics. There's this almost nihilistic feeling of amorality, where the meaning of something like the Peace Prize isn't just subjective but so infinitely fungible that any interpretation might as well be right… and in the absence of any greater, driving moral authority, Trump's conclusion is that money might as well stand in for morality – that the ability to enforce a subjective viewpoint is the only thing that matters, and anything other than authority is irrelevant to the process.
To be fair, I don't think Trump conceptualizes any of this in the way I just outlined it. I'm just describing his axioms and the zeitgeist in which they interact with the external world. The man himself is uninterested in thought – I think that if my statement is accurate, Trump has arrived at these conclusions purely via conditioning and intuition.
