Hurray to our voters for not allowing a reactionary psychopath into office. We elected a sane and competent person into office with no shitty history of criminality or garbage politics this year as a successor to Trudeau. Now I get to sleep easy knowing that I don’t live in a country run by conservatives.

Don't look up what happened in the 1984 and 1993 elections

>>2186048
I've been fascinated by this wave of Canadian nationalism. Approval ratings of the U.S. there have dropped down to the level of, like, China and Russia. Which blows up PP's campaign and benefits the Liberals due to negative polarization. The Liberals can outflank PP on the national populism, which is ironic and paradoxical. But history is an ironic thing. Mark Carney was talking about "the Americans" in his speech, which obviously plays right now.

Also think Carney is still underpriced on Polymarket. I loaded up two weeks ago.

hes a neolib banker, literal ex goldman sachs

>We elected a sane and competent person into office with no shitty history of criminality or garbage politics this year as a successor to Trudeau
No we didn't. Libshit party members elected him as leader and then Trudeau asked the governor general pretty please if he could be appointed as PM on behalf of the King. This country is a joke.

Bruh this is gonna be another Kamala blowout

It's not that strange if you know a bit about Canadian political history. Ever since Trudeau Sr. Canadian nationalism has had a pretty strong left-liberal bent to it. Conservatism in Canada has always in a sense been anti-nationalist, insofar as in its early days it was generally pro-British and wanted to emphasize our status as an extension of the British Empire. The Liberals have always in that sense been the party of a distinct Canadian identity. Trudeau Sr.'s legacy was to cement left-liberalism as a core component of our national identity and legal system, and since then most Conservatives have identified more strongly with the US since they dont have any of that gay liberal shit enshrined in their constitution. This only accelerated as the British Empire and its memory ceased to exist. This is just a continuation of the trend of Canadian conservatives repudiating Canada as conceptualized by the Liberals and identifying more strongly with a major foreign power they regard as more accurately embodying their values.

I just wanted to come into your thread to tell you I have no clue what's happening and no one cares about your irrelevant nation unless you elect a Marxist party.

I fucking hate the liberal, the nationalist, the non materialistic, the unscientific.

People like to talk about when Nixon went to China but they don't like to talk about when Trudeau Sr. went to China.

>>2186168
Oh hey anon! It looks like we're having the same dilemma…. What do you want to do about it?

>>2186184
Or all those times he went to Havana to get Cuban pussy and let Castro bone his wife.

>>2186178
Do you think PP isn't neolib something

>>2186200
Nah

>>2186048
I thought we hate neolibs on this board, why are you cheering the Liberal party instead of NDP or some other marginally Left party?

>>2186343
What are you, a Vladolf Putler bot, a Trump supporter? Maybe you a fash, a racist bigoted scum? Watch your language!

>>2186343
In comparison to most leaders, we genuinely got a better one than most

>>2186105
most polls still indicate the conservatives winning. mostly Ekos reports very high liberal while other report either a +5 conservative or a tie. either way the liberals could very well stop the convervatives from having a majority but i doubt they'll get a government, people are just tired of them.

>>2186668
NDippers might break for Libs to prevent a Con win because the party has been a disaster under Singh

>>2186721
this is what we're seeing the polls. lost of dippers flocking to the liberals now that there's a decent candidate (despite him being arguably more conservative). the NDP is such a shit party, they didnt accomplish anything of note during their allience with the liberals

>>2186732
>>2186668
How do you figure an ex-investment banker is a "decent candidate?". This is rapidly turning into a Clinton vs Trump sort of contest, confirming the adage that Canadian politics always lag about 10 years behind the US.

>>2186819
hes an ex-investment banker who's main accomplishment was keeping the dollar above the us during 2008 and he's far enough away from the trudeau government that people won't hate on him for all the fuckups during covid and the russia-ukrainian war

>>2186343
This place has turned liberal for quite a while now

>>2186875
Those are things which could contribute to him winning but I don't see why they make him better from a socialist perspective.

>>2186819
It's literally Harper's parliamentary secretary versus Harper's central banker

Will they call for early elections in Canada?

>>2186187
Or buying jets from USSR

>>2186898
oh it definitely dosent help socialism, not in the slightest. i just enjoy talking about electoral trends

>>2186923
Canada should buy jets from China

>>2186721
why do people hate singh so much? i only know him because he makes /pol/ seethe tbh

>>2187054
Lefties hate him because he's on the right of the NDP and right wingers hate him because he's brown and Sikh.

Freeland is now transport minister. I think it's good for Canada to have someone in that position who knows how to make the trains run on time.

>>2188407
>I'd like to thank my grandfather for helping to teach me the value of a well-managed train schedule. He used these skills to great effect deporting pro-Russian Jewish terrorists who were illegally occupying land meant for Ukrainians. They were sent to a rehabilitation facility where work made them free.

>>2186105
>Also think Carney is still underpriced on Polymarket. I loaded up two weeks ago.
Eh heh heh heh. It's funny to me how this Thiel-backed site works, because it's really about trying to manipulate elections through a magical belief in "markets" as all-seeing crystal balls, but markets can be irrational.

>>2188751
Why did the colors change?

>>2186112
and there is no ex goldman sachs. Its like ex-CIA.

yay more austerity

>polymarket
you're throwing your money away by gambling on that scam site, they just openly set the results to whatever they want, there is no connection to reality and no mechanism for one to exist
