The ongoing war on terror fought across the Sahel is complex, but there’s a bigger issue at hand. The entirety of the Sahara is undefended. Basically any terrorist grouped can walk through with little resistance given how barren and deserted it is. One could say that the Maghreb serves as a barrier (it barely does), but that doesn’t reflect well given that most North Africans live at the border of the continent than in the denser proper. The only means of stabilizing the Sahel and Africa is through the simultaneous conquering and fortification of the entirety of the Saharan wasteland.
I don’t even know how one could tackle such a massive goal. It has to be done and it is being done to some extent with the Sahel and ECOWAS efforts, but it isn’t enough.
>>2195305Hey faggot guess what? It can be terraformed and African farmers already proved that it can be made into a paradise with pretty simple tools too. Securing that territory also provides whoever protects it access to a terraformable area the size of the United States and protection against any militants trying to pass through the desert.
Terraforming and conquering the Sahara is explicitly political and it looks like the AES will be the first to claim a considerable chunk of it.
