This development came around five days ago, so this report is a little late. This development also comes after several other calls from other west African leaders have been made for reunification.

The current president of Ghana John mahama is currently trying to convince and encourage the Sahel states to rejoin ECOWAS and ongoing discussions over reorganization between ECOWAS and the Sahel states are already going underway. I don’t know how this will end up, but if the Nigerian government (the main force blocking reintegration) managed to get rid of Tinubu and other kleptocrats from seizing control, the fate of the Sahel states is functionally sealed.

I mean half the reason for any of these coups was to fight terrorism, I don’t see how you can fight jihad in the sahel and the governments of the sahel at the same time
