Could Mastodon chads get any more free momentum?
The 2020s will be the decade of ActivityPub

>Mastodon chads

whatever momentum mastodon might have is actively killed by never ending fediblock drama

Nitterbros… the based dev has saved us

 No.18325

>>18316
Fediblock is both not a major thing, and not just a mastodon thing.

We need a fedi instance software comes out that doesn't need JavaScript to run in browser. Infinite scrolling is not an essential feature.

 No.18326

>>18317
yes thats my point

>>18325
lol what, most fediverse instances are using mastodon

 No.18327

or rather, most users are on mastodon instances

 No.18328

>>18327
Well sure, Pleroma is newer, it's gonna take a while for things to even out.

Also I think the fediblock thing has slowed down since admins are aware cutting off randomly over drama had been killing the tech. It's been picking up momentum for a while since the hype of the most recent Twitter exodus died down.

I've been having lots of trouble with nitter lately. I hope things are fixed soon. Nitter is an essential part of engaging with internet social media.

 No.18335

>>18332
same, with some hot accounts not accessible on some instances. what happens if nitter stops?

 No.18337

>>18332
Make sure you cycle through different instances if one stops working. https://github.com/xnaas/nitter-instances

 No.18694

Lol this broke Twitter since a bunch of its own features were blocked from using the API

 No.18695

Does this nean nitter.net will stop working?

 No.18700

>>18695
I've often had better luck on nitter.snopyta.org than nitter.net (suggesting a rate-limit or site-specific issue) but it seem to be working fine.

>>18325
It would be trivially easy to make an alternate frontend since everything is pretty open. I'm surprised I haven't heard of one yet (protip: i didn't look)
