im a native american and the struggles that indigenous people face in japan are very similar to ours. okinawans arent even the only indigenous group in japan, theres also the ainu in hokkaido and they have a long recorded history of oppression as well. okinawans the ainu both have unique languages and cultures that are still actively being squashed by the japanese government. fuck the japanese government.
