 No.17989

how do we fix the anime industry

 No.17991

by pulling a communism

Maybe taking out the profit motive, to avoid overproduction of isekai or moe trash

 No.18004

Unionize.

 No.18012

They tried.
Since Japanese laws forbids from hiring scabs, companies outsourced production. Now it's even easier to outsource production in China, Korea or Vietnam. Animators can't win.

 No.18017

>>18012
the unionization has to be international

 No.18019

One approach would be:
- Purchase manga that have anime adaptations made by unionized animators.
- Donate a copy of each to local libraries to get locals, especially kids interested in them.
- If the libraries have DvD sections, donate the animes too.
- Offer to paint murals for locals that feature characters from them.
- Stop seeding non-unionized anime if you torrent.

 No.18020

tbh hollywood animators (CN, Nick, Disney) do pretty well even by HCOL LA, I think a senior animator makes around 140k. And these people aren't really talented in comparison to the average animator in Japan as CalArts has seemingly dropped teaching anatomy to any of its students.

They may be unionized however

>Purchase manga that have anime adaptations made by unionized animators.
>Stop seeding non-unionized anime if you torrent.
These would never have any material impact as they are individual actions. The others, however, are a start.

Well the first one is so you have copies to donate to the library.

>learning how to draw good
>learning how make a cartoon
Do weebs really think these two are the same thing?

 No.18025

>>18024
they used to be, you can't deny that Disney animation was pretty amazing during certain decades like the 40s and the 90s.

 No.18040

>>18025
you can say the second is an extension of the first, but the technical know-how is not the same

 No.18041

>>18040
this is just false, pick up old school animation books - those people were masters and it shows even in their simple use of forms.

you seem to want to disparage the talent of the majority of these arists (japanese animators have excellent anatomical knowledge) for really no reason.

>you cannot draw things extremely outside of your specialty therefore no skill
