I’ll be honest, I couldn’t fucking stand that annoying girl and I don’t understand how anyone that isn’t a literal pedophile could. She’s loud as fuck, she acts like and is literally a kid throughout the entirety of the show, she abuses other people without clear reason, and she is the only character to in this entire show to die pathetically because even the author genuinely couldn’t stand her.

What's the appeal of this show? I watched 3 episodes and stopped, it was not that interesting or entertaining to me.

Do you really think two people that damaged can do anything other than make each other worse?

love my homophobic girlboss
>>26476
no, but why suffer alone when you can suffer with a cute girl at the same time?

The entire point of shinji and asuka's dynamic is that it's a doomed attraction. The last movie did an entire scene about this. Yes, they're into each other, the writing makes it obvious. But at the end of the day, they're both validation-starved immature kids with clashing personalities and they can't give each other what they need, and the series knows this. Shinji and Asuka are basically your first shitty relationship in high school that falls apart because you're both dumb kids who don't know anything. They move on from each other at the end for a reason

People always say this about teenage love yet adults love is exactly the same but with more nuance.

>People always say this about teenage love yet adults love is exactly the same but with more nuance.
Adultist pride, adults don't want to admit they're retarded because they've "grown out" of being a dumb teenager. Meanwhile, you look at MAGAtards literally praying to Donald Trump and lose all faith in humanity.

>>26602
>adults love is exactly the same but with more nuance.
A successful adult relationship is one where you can actually navigate giving each other space and support despite the both of you being fucked up

>>26603
That's not an adults vs. teenagers thing, that's a problem with the broader culture promoting being an anti-intellectual schizo

>>26607
>Muh anti intellectualism.
Are you the guy from the main politics board?

Also, irony is, a lot of our great intellectual figures from the past were notorious for toxic relationships.

>>26603
And the biggest irony is? Most adults talk about how they miss being kids despite having pathological contempt for youth.

>>26604
The same could be said for successful teenage relationships. Which were more common in the old days
Nowadays, even mildly dramatic adults relationships go off the rails quickly.

>>26608
>everything is about how assblasted I am at people older than me

>>26608
>Also, irony is, a lot of our great intellectual figures from the past were notorious for toxic relationships.

So what? if Marx once accidentally hit himself in the balls, does that mean I should hit myself in the balls?

>>26608

I'm going to brutally honest, you sound sheltered. Bad relationships have been a thing forever.
>The same could be said for successful teenage relationships. Which were more common in the old days
"People married earlier in arrange marriages" does not automatically equal "successful relationship" by modern standards

>>26666
>I'm going to brutally honest, you sound sheltered. Bad relationships have been a thing forever.

Fair point. But then why do we make it a big deal when it's younger people?

>"People married earlier in arrange marriages" does not automatically equal "successful relationship" by modern standards

Not even talking about arranged marriage. Im talking about people hooking up with childhood friends or high school sweethearts. Alot of our early modern relationships were that.

>>26664
Idk man from what I see on imageboards it's the opposite

>>26670
1. on this I'll agree that there's an element of ageism involved
2. It's the live-and-learn part of a person's life. It's when a person basically has to feel out for themselves how to connect with people. When it goes wrong, it messes them up

>>26674
Methinks the real reason why bad relationships mess up people is because the pre-existing expectations of how relationships are "supposed to go".
Romantic love if we were to really examine it from a detached perspective is probably more selfish and destructive than lust.
Lust is at least easily relieved by rubbing the genitals.
Romance is not .
It's about trapping people into an eternal movie.
It's about trying to recreate your favorite movies and books, willfully ignoring or rejecting your partners for not looking/sounding/acting according to your impressions.

>>26675
You’ve never actually been in love, have you?

That’s not what it’s like. You’re describing just toxic assholes.
