Are there any science fiction games or books that take advantage of geothermal energy? The idea of any species taking full advantage of a planet’s energy reserves. The idea of a planet like earth becoming absolute 0 on the surface from the sheer energy extraction present on it sounds hardcore.

Depends on many things. The heat of the core and the diffusion of thermal energy throughout any planet itself also keeps it warm anywhere throughout the universe. After enough extraction, you’d start fucking up the planet
