Aren’t demons (well the Christian or Nordic ideas of demons) used in most games representations of human violence and anger? What better way to represent that anger than by consistently giving all demons in gaming weapons and body armour. You’d think games a lot about demons like diablo, World of Warcraft, Doom, Quake, the entirety of the souls borne series and the elder scrolls series would get this right. However, games like warhammer fantasy, and the Doom reboots to a small extent end up portraying demons less as nudists with big claws and more as murder-obsessed barbarians.

This is an honest question btw. Does anyone here that has a background with digital and tabletop games actually understand this shit?

Humans use weapons because we're weak mortals. Demons don't need weapons for the same reason a tiger or a rhinoceros doesn't need weapons.

it mostly depends of how the demons are portrayed both physically and mentally, doom and quake as example are mostly non sapient while warhammer demons have a far more limited intelligence, but they are still intelligent, and reboot doom demons use of corruption to enslave the more intelligent races to make weapons or stronger demons for them like they did with humans and sentinels.
on the flipside where are the human characters that rip and tear demons and monsters with their bare hands and hardly uses weapons, they always are peak, but only God hand or LISA has that type of shit.

I think it'd be neat to make demons based off like, what non-human animals would think demons are like.
