why do video game remakes fail to capture what makes the original game special all the time even though they are good games they still fail as remakes let's take a look at RE2 remake or the RE4 remake and FF7 remake. i am pretty sure the MGS3 and Silent Hill 2 remakes are gonna be just the same.

some remakes are good though, like dead space where you can tell they put a lot of heart into it. the re4 remake was decent too and the changes were good tbh

remakes like sh2's just treat the original like a disposable product

because they dont understand art direction just MUH GRAPHICSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Lack of the player character interactions like in the original
Leon and claire barely interact with each other in the remake
Lack of music which is one of resident evil's defining features

Well that's been my assumption. The more high paced / complex games I've played have had more post-processing focused graphics, while the more high definition graphics focused games I've played have been a bit glue eaty.
Probably just a matter of what was focused on in development.

not that anon, but i was just saying that the player characters ran into each other more in the original
it really felt like your paths could cross at any moment
in the remake it felt like they were afraid of them ever being in the same place at the same time
