damn call of duty got john wickified

Imagine if instead of doing this "modern warfare" crap they just kept doing "historical" games and you played as like musketeers and shit.

The cinematic on rails experience for people that hate playing games but also lack the attention span to watch a movie.

>dude gets stabbed and shot point blank
>no visible wounds whatsoever
Damn, this is so dissonant. The finisher animations themselves are very brutal, but there is no depth to them besides some cheap blood spray effects.
Honestly I wish Raven took a page from their own earlier games and did the inverse by implementing a detailed body damage system akin to Soldier of Fortune II (2002 release!) and perhaps even use the increased gore as not just a way to make the game more "brutal" or "edgy", but also add impact to combat by having characters respond accordingly by trying to take wounded squadmates into cover or panic themselves in reaction to gibbing.

is it bad that i never played this game yet the video you posted seemed more intresting that most modern vidyas i played? i'm startin to think i have a nostalgia bias but it's because the deaths seemed more believable than in recent CODs.

So what's this COD revising in history?

the first SOF was more like action Rambo where you mow down loads of enemies and skinheads or blow off their arms and legs with shotgun. it was pretty fun and dont take it too seriously
the sequel was more grounded and realistic. I think it was pretty good for the time, and I probably ended up playing it twice. but there are annoying missions that go no forever, running through the Colombian jungle and get hit in the head out of nowhere. a lot more difficult than the first one. I'd say it's worth giving a try if you can get hold of it.

Saddam had a zombifying virus supplied by a super secret, super bad deep state organization within the CIA. Other then that, surprisingly ahistorical, it's like they gave up completely on the setting.
