the staircase I am in goes on for 467 blocks deep or almost half a kilometer down. It takes minutes to get to the surface from bedrock level.

Oh neat, what worldgen mod / datapack?

I have been playing minetest (open source minekampf) and they dialed up the world gen spookness to 99

Jjthunder. You get some massive caves from that

Is it like cubic chunks?

Minetest?
Is just beta minecraft with a roblox or gmod like implementation where the game is a front end client like thing and you download the game modes - campaigns and mods into it.

The world generation underground is just as massive as the overworld surface.

Im pretty sure that the guy that made it and said that he wanted to do what mojang didnt was to dial up the shit your pants paranoia that being in a cave caused and made minetest with that in mind.

Which to his Credit works out pretty well.

If you are talking about a measurement instead of a game Mode pretend I did answer your questions.

Anyway im fairly sure that the world generation is 1:1 to minecraft, just open source and using Lua instead of java or c++

In a different world, I dug out this little trench network that has a base built into the dirt itself. That got me thinking, what if we're building our survival bases wrong? what if the best way to build is down into the earth instead of up?

>>41207
I always build my bases into the ground. Seems more fun to me

>>41208
It’s also more practical as it allows you to safely fight from any position in your base if it’s in a trench or foxhole compared to mindlessly fighting in the open

>>41207
I usually start my bases building 5x5 towers by digging down and using the resulting stone to build up.

>>41210
Cool fact, build a wall three blocks tall and break the middle wall blocks but leave the edges in tact, then place slabs on the roof of the hole you created. If you shoot at skeletons and witches through it, they won’t be able to shoot back at you despite getting aggro every time you shoot at them.

here is what this design should look like

I am Steve
Chicken Jokey
This is a crafting table

>>41213
Ah nice. If the roof is shorter than an enderman you can probably use that at the enderman whacking chamber too.

>>41218
Probably. Besides, my design isn’t that great. A better one would be to just dig out a little bunker in a mountain and create the same slit to shoot out of like what arab fighters living in mountainous places tend to do.

Great minds think alike, I built a tower to the height limit as an extension in mine

I was playing a desert run. Ocean level at 1 with desert set as the only biome. It was fucking brutal and I was scared of losing everything when I die. After several days, I came across a village that had saplings and well…

proof of concept: it is possible to turn an entire village into a single building using walls

>>41398
I liked this concept so much that I expanded on it. Here is the finished build
