Royal Rumble Edition, I guess. Even though we won't get enough activity to have multiple editions.

I haven't watched any wrestling in at least half a year, but the Rumble is tonight and that's always my favorite PPV. I normally at least watch the last RAW and Smackdown before a PPV, but I'm so out of it that I didn't even bother to do that, so I have no clue what the current angles are. I watched NWA for a while but haven't liked what I've seen from AEW.

Any other white trash comrades who like fake fights?

WOOOOOO

 No.13322

I watch WWE and sometimes AEW. I was pretty shocked about Sting signing with AEW. Not sure what exactly is going to happen there. Probably just some cameos for a while and a short match or two. But he did sign a multi-year contract with them. As far as WWE, I'm loving the Fiend and Alexa Bliss. I hope they make Little Miss Bliss even more twisted.

Imagine bumping a thread made almost a year ago.

 No.13357

Well it's the only wrestling thread here and I didn't think it was proper in making a new one since this one existed. That's all. Also, a pretty niche topic here I imagine. Shouldn't have to kill another thread for that.

I miss her so much, bros.

Is it possible for there to be a cross-promotion event where Jeff Hardy could share the ring with Sting? That 2011 TNA Road to Victory match was beyond awful, I know. But considering that Jeff Hardy's been clean/sober for a good while now, I think it could be a touching addition to Jeff Hardy's redemption arc. Hardy redeeming himself to his childhood hero Sting publicly, you know?

Hardy's been in some good matches lately, imo. I really enjoyed his bar fight with Sheamus, his triple threat ladder match with AJ Styles and Sami Zayn at Clash of Champions and his Symphony of Destruction match with Elias.

There's no way that Vince McMahon would allow that. He has a giant hate boner for AEW. It shows with petty things here and there that you see such as Lana getting thrown through that table every week for a good while just becausae of Rusev going to AEW when in fact it was WWE that let him go in the first place. I missed out on TNA but I've watched the footage from that where Jeff was fucked up and the match ended with Sting being extremely pissed off. I've thought about going back and watching some other TNA stuff as someone who grew up on WCW. I never realized at the time that's where a lot of those guys went to back around 2004-2006. I was actively still watching Raw weekly until 2006 and Smackdown whenever I could up until that point. Then just watched wrestling on and off until around 2017. I took an interest in it again when a friend of mine let me use their WWE Network account to watch stuff.

I liked the Bar fight at first I was kind of "meh" about the cinematic type matches. But looking back they aren't that bad. I do wish it would have been someone else instead of AJ Styles that had the final match with the Undertaker though. The John Cena and Fiend match was interesting. I liked the short cameo of what could have been with NWO Cena. lol

I watched both of those other matches as well. I still like Jeff a lot. He was one of my favorites as a teenager. I used to do backyard wrestling based around his, Chris Jericho, and HBKs movesets. Also speaking of Sami Zayn, even though he's a trolly heel I love when he goes on about being anti-capitalist and wish that I had his outfit. I'm curious to what others thoughts about Sami Zayn are on here.

 No.13478

Anyone here planning on watching TLC?

Same. I mean, his aesthetic is clearly modeled on Fidel Castro no? I remember the build-up to his Survivor Series match with Bobby Lashley, how Lashley's United States Championship was contrasted with Zayn's Intercontinental Championship, and how Zayn referred to himself as the peoples' champion, I thought he was maybe making a subtle reference to the TriContinental.

I am!

 No.13490

>>13482
Yes, I've thought that he definitely was modeled on Castro from there very start. Also another valid point, I didn't think about that but I did think more towards leftist ideologies instantly. But you could be onto something, as it makes sense.

Nice! Do you have any predictions so far?

 No.13503

>>13490
So far, I'm predicting Sasha Banks and Roman Reigns successfully defend their titles. Not sure about the rest yet.

 No.13520

>>13503
I agree with those. It's way too soon for Sasha to lose the Smackdown's Women's title. Then with Roman Reigns, I have a feeling he's going to have that title for a good long while. I'd like to see him and Drew continue where they left off from Survivor Series. I'm honestly surprised they don't have anything set up for Asuka as far as the Raw Women's Championship goes. I guess the storyline for the Women's Tag Team is taking more of a ride, maybe Asuka "Two-Belts"?

Yeah, probably. I'm hoping for 2-belts Asuka tomorrow. She's too based. Everything about her style: her speed, energy/intensity, kicks, spinning backfists, suplexes, hip-attacks, the Asuka lock submission. She's joshi puroresu incarnate. also hnggh and teds of peace

Yeah man, those wrestlers didn't just throw each other around on tv, but all the damn time. It used to be a lot worse than it is now, but it's still pretty bad. There's a reason why so many wrestlers have joint issues and die young.

 No.23145

Not that it influences who I like, but I'm actually trying to think of wrestlers who are "left".

Cornette's a freak ass dem, so is Hurricane Helms. Nash is a self-described "centrist democrat".

Ventura's a weird kinda left-populist, but I admit I haven't read much about his actual beliefs. Zayn is a Bernie Bro, and that's all I can think of.

I guess a cutthroat, out-for-yourself industry like this only attracts the rightoid types mostly.

>>23097
It's a real crapshoot between sacrificing your body for some billionaire's pocket change, or just straight up sacrificing your body, period.

No idea the exact show but given the logo in the corner it's probably 95-96 WWF.

Jerry Lawler is a very well known Southern wrestler and got mainstream attention for his feud with Andy Kaufman. If he's on screen he's playing a character, but he'd probably say he's turning his real personality up to 11

I have never been suplexed
I am assuming is the lack of recovery time that is hurting them?

Imagine how a union strike of wrestlers would look like lol

Just all of them in beefy clothes outside, Couldn't even break it up

They would suplex the pinkerton shits onto the pavement

Reject Wrestling
Accept Manime

It's the most ethical wrestling and the concepts are out of the world and are not limited by 3D physic-

Wait scratch that, Idk if the animators of this were overworked or not

Have you guys watched this wrestling anime? It's dope as hell and is called Ultimate Muscle

The only wresling I've ever watched is some WWE top 10 video on AXN about some dude who jumped from a high, closed metal cage and fucking died

That and there was a serialized indian wrestling show back in the early 'aughts

I used to wonder why my friends used to think that people can come back alive after watching werestling but then I watched this and I understood

Shit is believable asf, Can't tell what is real or not
WWE is gaslighting

Hol up, lemme find the show's link, They pretended a dude died and I fucking really believed it

It had fun characters

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxvvQO9fAvI

Found it
It's so weird that when you think of wrestling you think of these types of shows and not the actual traditional form of one, in those schools

With those head gears and spandex

>I am assuming is the lack of recovery time that is hurting them?
That, and the constant strain on the same part of your body. I've seen interviews from wrestlers who say they and their coleauges actually shrink due to spine compressions because of their shitty moves.
I really wish a big change in the industry would happen, but the wrestlers die too young to strike. The best bet in changing the WWE imo would have to be through CM Punk.

The best part of professional wrestling for me has never been the athletics, but the promos, so I really really see no point these wrestlers in killing themselves for some billionaire's wallet.
