I love Yugioh, but it's so difficult to enjoy it nowadays. I've exhausted the older formats such as Edison, Goat and HAT, and the current meta sucks. I'll only come back when Snake-Eye is dead and buried for good.

I keep trying to get back into it, and dropping it soon after. Modern Yugioh is such a mess, its insane. On top of that, people tend to get shot/stabbed outside of local yugioh tournaments in my city.

i still watch ygotas. it's not as good as it used to be but it's still a treat when a new episode comes out.

No: too expensive, cards are ridiculously complicated, local card shop community is ass, meta is unforgiving. Trading card games are always something I want to dabble in but it's hard to be casual: you either dive head first and min-max with a several hundred $$ deck you bought card for card from an internet guide, or suck ass trying to build your own; there's no sizeable in-between market. It was fun as a kid cobbling together whatever with booster packs and starter decks to play against other school kids, but as an adult there's too many whales with too much money who make it a sink or swim thing.

it also sucks how card art is basically useless, I always wanna have a theme deck like in the cartoons but reality is you just buy whatever is strongest in the meta. tbh if you took away the art TCG's are more akin to legal battles were you argue over fine print and rulings

I only like the pre-2008 meta.

I watched one video on the current state of the game after playing it as a child and the meta is fucking nuts. The game is unplayable.

All i do is collect, playing this tcg is a nightmare nowadays. I have a binder full of majority of dark magicians and blue-eye cards. Next goal is to collect all jinzos

My childhood deck had a Jinzo (blocks traps) with a Horus (blocks magic spells).

I have been thinking of getting into Tengu Plant, no one plays Meadowlands online :C

Modern YGO seems just as cancerous as it was when I left in 2016, buy the new game warping cards for a few hundred bucks every 6 months or get fucked. It's a terrible value proposition when fighting games exist.
