Friends, I need help. One of my best friends, who is an arab muslim, just told me she's reading the book Pawns in the Game by William Guy Carr and told me I should read it too. We were talking about Palestine, which we do a lot, but this time she started talking about how the jews were causing all sorts of problems in Europe, how Karl Marx was a jew and how they caused the French and Russian revolutions. Then she straight up asked me if I really think 6 million died. Like I said she's muslim but isn't very conservative (she doesn't even wear hijab). She's a compassionate, rational and perfectly lovely person otherwise. The fuck do I do?
I haven't read the book yet but it references both Protocols of the Elders of Zion and a letter supposedly written by the prominent freemason Albert Pike which outlines a secret plan for three world wars (I happen to know quite a lot about Pike and this letter is a hoax). What do you do when friends you love start going down these rabbit holes?
>>2237828I wish but I assure you this happened and I'm really unsure how to deal with it.
>>2237821Right, to this I just said Marx was good and the Russian revolution was good so there's no problem lol. But it's sad to me when arabs adopt old school anti-semitism promoted by like the catholic church and tsarist propaganda. Hamas had this stuff in their charter from the 80's, but in the 2017 charter they took it out and condemned anti-semitism as a European phenomenon that has nothing to do with the muslim world (which I pointed out to her).
>>2262307>Remind her that the reactionaries she is listening to would kill her on the spot (both islamists and nazis). This is good and I did point this out. A common narrative among modern nazis is that the jews are orchestrating muslim immigration to Europe to destroy western civilization. So according to the people this stuff comes from she is part of the conspiracy and as such would need to be "dealt with" in one way or another.
My biggest issue is how to argue against "old school" European antisemitism and "light" holocaust revisionism. I've never encountered this shit in the wild so I have no experience dealing with it. Arguments like how the jews were expelled from so many countries that it has to be their fault somehow. Thankfully the book she mentioned is so obviously bullshit because of how it cites confirmed forgeries like the Albert Pike letter, that nothing else in it can be taken seriously.
>>2237681it's part and parcel of having muslim friends.
I just act dumb and switch the topic to football instead
