Palestine is the center of the Abrahamic religions, and religion comes to play a big factor, even among people who are nominally secular. I'd say the left is very moralist about it, more so than many conflicts, it becomes like a morality play. Where I see antisemitism on "the left" it's often among braindead granola types but they usually end up going down the right-wing schizo pipeline anyways.
