About the situation in South Korea
Since former President Yoon Seok-yul was impeached by the Constitutional Court in an 8-0 vote, South Korea's political landscape has taken a turn for the worse. Angry conservatives have chosen former Employment and Labor Minister Kim Moon-soo, a converted Marxist, as the candidate of the People's Power (Yoon's party), while the liberal-leaning Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party of Korea, who has betrayed even his own labor-friendly agenda, seems to have won the "loyalty pledge" of the country's progressive parties: the Social Democratic Party, the Basic Income Party, and the Progressive Party. The anti-liberal left-wing Democratic Labor Party, on the other hand, is not likely to do much better, not only because they are on the outskirts, but also because of their disastrous performance in past contests. Another is the Reform Party, which has a base of ugly Incel supporters. There are also a number of anti-communist Christian parties.
