What is /leftypol/'s stance on Haz Al-Din's American Communist Party? Is it based or cringe? How does it compare to other communist movements in America?(No Haz)
They plan to use GenAI for economic planning, which right away is a big fat red flag sticking out of a fireant hill to anyone who knows anything about how that technology actually works. Of course, you could interpret
>The Communist Party stands for the large-scale implementation of cybernetic technologies across the whole economy and the implementation of AI-driven national economic planning
(from the ACP website) in a much more charitable way that refers to a new, actually intelligent AI system that doesn't exist yet, but I know these chucklefucks well enough to know that it is absolutely not what they mean.
But beyond that, and to summerize things I've said elsewhere on the site, the underlying problem with the ACP is that it's an ostensibly "populist" party with deeply unpopular positions on social issues. Your average American isn't a hardcore conservative Bible thumper who also thinks that we should ban anime. Your average American is either Jordan Peterson right, Hasan Piker left, or Joe Rogan center. Anyone who isn't one of those three things is an outlier.
This assertion is backed up partially by polling data; according to Gallup, supermajorities of Americans support both gay marriage and the legalization of pot, and an increasingly large segment of the population identifies as some form of LGBT. It is also backed up, partially, by my lived experience. I live in the Rust belt, which, in theory, should be full of the exact kind of people the ACP is pandering to, but in reality, it very much isn't. Most of the self-identified conservatives up here, at least the ones I've met, are lolbert pothead types. The only people I can think of who I know of IRL that genuinely fit into the ACP's conception of The People are petite booj multigenerational business owners who get drunk at country clubs while their kids torture the workers.
A lot of it really does feel like LARPing; LARPing as Bolsheviks, LARPing as the "old left", LARPing as third-world revolutionaries. But we don't live in Tsarist Russia, or the 1930s, or Africa. We live in the modern, postmodern, "postindustrial" neoliberal United States, and the values of the public are going to reflect that.
Listen, to a degree I can understand the resentments one has with the modern American (or Western in general) left, the problem is that they are emulating exactly the neurotic politics in reverse which they are accusing their opponents of. The "ACP" is a project by a bunch of very young neurotic American nerds, with no experienced serious cadres that could advise them (and they would reject such an advise anyway). It's true that the modern left lacks aesthetics, vision, innovation and clings to outdated leftist scene rituals, repeating mantras (like, free Palestine is okay, but we must defeat Putinism and authoritarian state capitalist China, etc.). It's also true that they have no clue on how do deal with a multipolar world, with modern Africa, China, etc. - but the ACP is not the solution.
Basically the entire foundation on which the ACP is founded upon will eventually bite them in their ass, the needless attacks against anyone who might be on their side in spirit, the constant shilling of reactionaries and Thiel shills, the needless constant use of slurs, the needless alienating of everyone gay or trans, the flirting with LaRouchism, the retarded attempt to subvert the CPUSA by using LaRouche tactics, basically the entirety of Jackson Hinkle's Twitter account, Haz's streaming arcs with him showing up on Twitch dating shows in tank tops or shirtless, absolutely no international connections to other parties besides the KPRF, the organizational discipline of lack thereof (constant leaks, scandals, etc.) and much more.
The little amount of good things they are trying is undermined by this pile of shit.
It's not like other American organizations are much better, to be fair.
>>2266224Why are we having another ACP thread? There was already a Haz thread the other day, who cares? The ACP will never do anything of value
The only real claim to fame they have is Hinkle and Hinkle's retarded in his own right lol
>>2269570It's a shame they haven't got a London branch.
I've got a bin bag full of unwashed clothes. It'd be really handy if they'd take it to the launderette for me.
