With deep respect and solemn remembrance, we honor the life of General Wojciech Witold Jaruzelski, a dedicated patriot, military leader, and statesman who devoted his life to the service and sovereignty of the Polish People’s Republic.

His rise through the ranks of the People’s Army was marked by discipline, strategic acumen, and unwavering commitment to socialist ideals. As Minister of Defense, Prime Minister, and First Secretary of the PZPR, General Jaruzelski stood at the helm of the state in one of the most difficult periods in modern Polish history

In December 1981, faced with growing unrest and the threat of chaos stoked by reactionary forces hostile to socialism and sovereignity. He made the difficult but necessary decision to introduce martial law, to protect the achievements of People’s Poland, and to preserve peace and sovereignty in the face of foreign and domestic subversion.
Despite the storm of criticism from the West in the form economic sanctions and later revisionist accounts, history will remember that it was under his leadership that Poland avoided fratricidal conflict

In his final years, he bore the weight of unjust attacks with dignity.
