I think it's pretty obvious that anyone forecasting a traditional USSR-style revolution in the US, at least in the short term is driven by wishful thinking.

My question is, where are we headed next? Facism? Gradual stagnation into nothingness? Keynesian reform to keep things going a little longer?

Discuss.

>wishful thinking.
Probably, but then again Lenin thought he was going to die without seeing a revolution, and wrote that at least in Russia, things were doomed in his lifetime, and literally a few weeks later shit kicked off.

>My question is, where are we headed next? Facism?

Definitely some sort of reactionary home grown eco-fascism in the next decades unless shit pops off. There are some pretty nuts militias with WAY more members than you think, especially in the Midwest/Michigan. Either that or everything just settles and lets everything slide further into a full oligarchy. Some countries already classify the US as an oligarchy anyways.

Personally I think things are just going to continue to crumble / deteriorate while the country is pillaged by billionaires and an actual full official slave class is established. Right now, the US basically exists as a proxy for a handful of ultra-wealthy individuals to flex on the rest of the world through and make even more money.

A different, non USSR related, type of revolution.
>Facism?
Supporters in the modern day are too stupid and they already fucked themselves
>Gradual stagnation into nothingness?
What would this even mean? The country is most certainly doomed. The lands and people are a different story.
>Keynesian reform to keep things going a little longer?
Literally impossible. The liberals are hated now, and their suck dem and dem suck sub types are seen as insufficient.

>>2294126
And another thing. We’re already in a fascist society ruled by an oligarchy. In their stupidity, they have decided to swap a fascist government with another fascist government. This shit will not end well for them.

The cyber punk authors of yore were mostly right.
America will most likely fall apart due to climate change which will cause internal migration to the eastern and mid west big cities, most people will live in slums, the rich will live in closed off gated communities that are guarded by robot dogs that fire bees from their mouths.
High tech low life. also its china that replaces america not japan.

>America will most likely fall apart due to climate change which will cause internal migration to the eastern and mid west big cities
Also a completely valid scenario. Living on either coast for civilians will be next to impossible within 100 years, possibly even sooner as most of the world is falling into fascism and climate change begins to spiral. Its already completely fucked in some states with the only people living near the water having priced out / gentrified every square mile into oblivion, but they have more than enough money to rebuild their homes every few years (for now).

Soon it won't even be worth the effort, and the inland portion of those states become unlivable and there will be a mass exodus into the middle of the country when the apartment buildings can no longer withstand the extreme weather.

>>2294174
So what do you think will happen?

>>2294176
You have fallen into the pit of capitalist realism
>most people will live in slums
Why would this even happen? How would this even happen? What would be the events that would even allow this to happen? Who would have the power to force this to happen?
>the rich will live in closed off gated communities
That’s already the case. And you overestimate their survival capabilities.
>are guarded by robot dogs that fire bees from their mouths
Ha ha ha no. They already choked on their own snake oil. Look at Elon Musk for an example.
>High tech low life
Already the case
>also its china that replaces america not japan
China will have its own issues to worry about. And there is no replacing America.
>>2294184
>falling into fascism
Already the case

They’re getting JDPON’ed as we speak. The decay and rot of this empire of duct tape and bandaids is too much to handle. They can’t pay the bills and fill the quotas. They can’t manage and deliver. They can’t service and maintain. They have lost their intellectual advantages to the proletariat in their hunt for wealth, and have grown complacent and stupid. Their silver tongue has been shattered and voices demonized. The circuses are closing and the bakeries are short of dough. Their investors and supporters become ever more disillusioned and displeased. Their armies have downsized and decayed. Their subjects grow disgruntled and hungry.

What will happen next? The American years of lead. And a feast on a scale humanity has never seen before. And of course climate change, the evermore dangerous cataclysm that humanity must adapt to and overcome. That is what will happen. The bourgeoisie have missed their chance of a capitalist future. The tremors they create today is nothing more than the thrashing of a dying class.

We still making these “is the US fascist” “what will revolution look like?” idealist threads?

>>2294302
>Trying to figure out what's most likely to happen so you can plan around it is idealism
You know, if you don't have anything of value to say, nobody's forcing you to post.

>>2294312
trve marxism is when you screech "nothing ever happens" at everything and everyone no matter what they're doing. Better for humanity to die a thousand deaths than for one man to risk being cringe

>>2294312
no one forced op to make this thread that’s been made 1000x just like ko one forced you to respond to me, you could’ve kept it pushing

Yet here we are

Now are you going to waste more of your time thinking of a clever gotcha, debate addict or are you going to just ignore this and move on with your day?

>>2294341
I want to learn. You, as far as I can tell, don't want anything at all.

If you think I'm a dumbass, please tell me why, or point to resources that will help me learn. The whole point of the site is to discuss leftism. If you're not willing to do so, then you're wasting your time by using it.

>>2294126
We are already in fascism bro. Paramilitary thugs are wandering the streets kidnapping people for wrongthink.

>>2294126
Tell me how le revolution happened in le petrograd

>>2295334
The modern US is not 1917 Russia.

>>2296039
The modern US is Germany in 1943, only the Chinese army can kick in the doors and establish a DOTP

>>2296048
>The modern US is Germany in 1943
No, the modern US is the modern US.
>only the Chinese army can kick in the doors and establish a DOTP
And China isn't the goddamn Soviet Union. That's not the kind of thing they do.

Warlord China

>>2296108
Isn't real. They've been pretty consistent in aiding foreign movements that are sympathetic to them, rather than bursting in America style.

>>2294126
> where are we headed next?
Decline. It's unstoppable and not fixable. When you keep giving the rich tax cuts and make it expensive for everyone else.

Trickle down economics has ruined the country.

The rich will continue to hoard the money, hoard the power, and everyone else is fucked.
