This is true, yet they present themselves with the view of the status quo as "contrarian" enforcers of "the falling status quo", i.e. defenders of the bourgeois order which have no arguments besides parroting the same pseud "academic" papers meant for fearmongering rather than experimentation, study, adaptation, modification and extraction of the beneficiary properties - they are instead overlooked and slandered. This is not a scientific onlook, it is a reactionary view that thrives off the scared and the parasitic, which completely neglects the history of medicine and science in themselves, the taking of disease to create immunities - a process which they look over because "it is filthy, there is nothing worth doing with it" or deflecting "whatever potential it may have is still not good enough to allow people…" and such arguments. It is reactionary and regressive, but some still think they are "scientific oriented" because of the label games they love to play.
This can all be prevented by proper moderation which will defend the opposition towards the WOD and prohibit provocative slander. But the moderation has no reason to do it because they would rather cultivate a mass of reactionaries than a minority of real, non-cultural progressives.
