Somehow just came across my online friends twitter account. Already knew he was a leftist but thought he was somewhat normal, but his twitter account…
>weird reply guy, every day he does about 50 replies to the same sort of people
>half of these replies are parroting the same shit other people say with far more likes
>his own posts barely get any traction
>is a Stalinist, has tweeted several times about how eastern europe should be genocided for seperating from the USSR, how they're all nazis etc, despises Estonia
>>worth noting he is an american and i dont think he's spoken with someone from eastern europe at all, let alone Russia
>same thing for Taiwan / Ukraine stuff
>>again don't think he knows anything about these countries really, just parrots other stalinist talking points on this
>constantly talking about how he's "organising with his local communist community" and engaging with trade unions all the time
>>know for a fact that he is a NEET that bums off his parents and doesn't leave the house
He is literally a walking, talking example of what most people picture in their heads when it comes to "online extreme leftist" and i'm honestly worried if he ever got doxxed he'd become some new meme.
>>2309941gomen, its my first time posting here, didnt realise there was a /b/ equivalent, wanted to post this somewhere that wasnt like, reddit, in case he sees it, and somewhere that isnt 4chan where itd get filled with instant schizo posts and also not have the audience i want to see it
>he'll grow out of iteheh, he's like 10 years older than me, if by grow out of it you mean "completely flip his political swinging once someone calls him out on his bullshit" then sure
>>2310151*I wanted to reply to
>>2310100Wierd.
OP you found a bot pretending to be your friend,
>weird reply guy, every day he does about 50 replies to the same sort of people
Paid SEO boosting of those people's posts
>half of these replies are parroting the same shit other people say with far more likes
>his own posts barely get any traction
A human wouldn't do this without positive reinforcement they clearly aren't getting
>is a Stalinist, has tweeted several times about how eastern europe should be genocided for seperating from the USSR, how they're all nazis etc, despises Estonia
Things an AI would assume a Stalinist believes
>worth noting he is an american and i dont think he's spoken with someone from eastern europe at all, let alone Russia
>again don't think he knows anything about these countries really, just parrots other stalinist talking points on this
And you don't see that as suspicious?
>constantly talking about how he's "organising with his local communist community" and engaging with trade unions all the time
>know for a fact that he is a NEET that bums off his parents and doesn't leave the house
Of course, it's just what an AI would assume of the character it's been been given of him.
Tell him about the bot, suggest he take time to assess his infosec and to be psudonymous online as per proper online safety, and maybe find out what fedi instance he uses instead of twitter, since he would've probably done something about it by now if he actually used twitter.
>>2312989>>2313035Are you sure this is your issue though? My suspicion is that your issue is exactly the opposite.
You fear people may actually have deeply held, internally consistent beliefs that are divergent from those you yourself subscribe to (at least the most important ones anyways).
That these people exist and might also otherwise be functional may actually terrify you, and so you hyperfixate on this dysfunctional "friend" you know to console yourself.
>>2313382Hey sorry to hear you degenerated. Maybe there is hope you in the future though;
After all in Greece had become a revisionist party but after 14th congress has steadily reversed its revisionism and is more robust btoday because of it.
>>2313376Yes it is my issue, it's not just a left wing thing, it objectively happens more on the right with all the grifter accounts where people believe nothing but say horrible outlandish shit. I think I just find it more pathetic on the left side because at least those right wing people like, earn money, or are being blackmailed by Mossad or something. Why is some shut-in in the middle of nowhere pretending to be a prole when he literally doesn't work. Why is he pretending to know anything about Serbian politics when I know for a fact he probably watched some funny 5 minute long meme video about Yugoslavia and that's his only exposure to the Balkans.
Sort of related and extremely controversial, but this sort of thing especially frustrates me because online leftist spaces are FILLED with these fucking people and they get a ton of traction for some reason (even though in my friends case he doesn't get any). I can count several times where i've seen a post by someone where it says some shit about how the ongoing riots (i.e the LA ones right now, the palestinian ones or BLM a few years ago) should have people be shooting at cops and blowing up walmarts etc. And then you click on the profile of the person who posted that and it's got them talking about how they're bedridden or tweets about how they nearly had a panic attack because they had to collect their food directly from the doordash guy.
Do I think people with chronic illnesses/mental illnesses should be able to contribute? Yes. Do I think these people should be listened to when they say shit like "heh these pussy protesters should just bring their ak47's and blast into the cops" when they would probably start crying if they had to even attempt to buy a gun, let alone shoot one? No.
>>2313503He's a Stalinist because his twitter is filled with posts of him calling himself a Stalinist. But you are right, he's not ideologically consistent, which I spend most of that OP explaining how he isn't ideologically consistent and that's why I don't like him now.
I think fundamentally the conclusion i've come to is that Americans have ruined the concept of having beliefs, everything they "believe" in is basically just like sports to them, oh no you can't have a view on policies, you have to make it BOMBASTIC and EPIC, oh you can't just convert to catholicism, you have to learn every single autistic edict of the religion and go "ermmmm ackchually" to your priest because he didn't throw rocks at the girl who came to church wearing jeans, and then you have to autistically explain how the crusades were le heckin based or some shit.
>>2313433I don't use social media and I am 8 years clean from fb & yt accounts/posting; I never touched any of the other sites. These days only occasional leftypol use is my sickness.
That said, we certainly all have struggles in our personal lives (though I am happy to say social media addiction isn't one of mine), but my point was that real divisions exists in the realm of ideology & worldview, and these cannot be reduced to (or even mainly captured by) character flaws/lifestyle (real or perceived).
>>2313541If you are truly not being facetious/trolling, then I think you can find a good deal of your answer in what you yourself have here just written:
>because online leftist spaces are FILLED with these fucking peopleThe key words to emphasize are "online spaces".
Consider that, bots aside, who are most likely to be disproportionately represented online if measured by words typed or audio/visual output?
Its not going to be third world sweatshop workers, landless day laborers, slum dwellers, mining or brothel slaves, etc.
Its going be those with relatively more free time, relatively higher internet access, etc. (and this does correlate to class status)
And if you only speak english, what you will encounter will be disproportionately anglosphere (& first worlders for economic reasons, to be sure).
I would tell you to look into 902.gr on youtube or рксмб, or even librarie tropiques as examples to steer away from twitter garbage, but even then autotranslate is not always available, and though pretty decent these days, its not always good.
>>2313697Note that emphasize "ONLINE SPACES" and omitted the leftist part.
This is because what described in my reply is structural to all online space. That is the point I am making.
